One problem related to steering gear box sector shaft has been reported for the 2003 Chevrolet C1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact stated a popping and cracking noise from the steering when turning the steering wheel at low speeds. The contacted took the vehicle to the dealer. Although the dealer did not inspect the vehicle he suggested replacing the mid shaft of the steering.
