One problem related to hydraulic power assist steering system has been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet C3500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was traveling about 50mph on highway and was approaching a dip in the road, went across the dip, and immediately heard a noise coming from left wheel. Vehicle felt like left side went down. He turned steering wheel right, and vehicle didn't turn. Vehicle just locked down in position. Went into a water ditch, hit enbankment, and went up to the enbankment. Wheel lugs, bolt: nuts came off. There were no injuries. Tie rod on driverside broke.
