When attempting to leave a friends house my 2000 chevy Camaro (3. 8 l v6) would not stay running. After taking the car to the local mechanic it was discovered that the isc motor had "blown. " dealers and the manufacturer could not locate an isc motor right away. It turns out that this motor is actually part of the vehicles throttle body. The part that malfunctioned can only be purchased separately for the 5. 8l v8, or so we are told, whereas the 3. 8l engine must purchase the entire component. Currently, the mechanic is working on replacing the throttle body with a brand new, gm supplied part, since there are no aftermarket parts available for the 3. 8l. The cost of towing and the part will total just short of $1100. 00.
