1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2021

Tpms system and remote keyless entry fails to operate correctly after installing new tires. Dealer was unable to resolve the problem even with a change to the keyless entry module. Gm reports that some tires have too much steel in the belts causing the signals to be blocked or be intermittent which can cause drivers to drive on under inflated tires. Failure occurs in any type of driving. Gm needs to replace the sensors with ones that provide a stronger signal to comply with the tread act.

My wife was involved in a collision in her 2010 chevy Camaro. This vehicle is subject to a key fob recall and the recall was not done. My wife was driving n/b on hy 99 throught acampo CA and approximately 60 mph. It was raining. The car possibly hydroplaned in the rain but then she lost all steering, brakes and power and was not able to control the vehicle. As a result the car left the roadway and there was a significant front end impact when the front of the car hit a drainage ditch. The vehicle went into a uncontrolled spin and came to rest back in the #2 lane of n/b hy 99. The engine was not running when the car stopped. My wife did have several keys on her key ring. We believe that she would have been able to control the vehicle had the flawed key fob not shut the vehicle off. There was also a significant enough front end impact that the airbags would have deployed if the car were running when the collision occurred. The car was a total loss. I explained the key fob issue to the insurance company and the chp officer who took the original report. Neither researched this and they did not believe this flaw could have been the primary factor in this collision. My wife's injuries were minor. We are at a loss and do not know how to proceed. Most attorneys will not take this case because the injuries were minor. I truely believe this crash was caused by the faulty key fob and I do not think the insurance or the chp should hold my wife responsible for this. I will attach photos of our car showing that the airbags should have deployed but didn't. I can get copies of the police report and the letters I sent to my insurance and the chp. Chp's response was that even though the car shut off, it couldn't have caused this collision. Like I said they did not look into this. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

The image you see is an example of an airbag that a lady suffered from your recent recalled airbag tamara. I have similar evidence in the same exact and length and width cut as she does. . . I was a passenger in this car that become out of control, also an ignition recall was proven to hurt people in the 2010 Camaro. I wasn't the drive so all I know is driver lost control an ran onto the side of the road into the grass, flush ground, inbetwen a fence and the road had 100-200 ft to brake and turn the car back on the road avoiding a colvert. But instead major malfunction. Frontal airbags went off at the wrong time, also evidence shows airbag cut my throat, also side and sunroof airbags did not deploy! vehicle went airborn, all ends of vehicle was impacted. Note. Passenger! not owner!.

The timing chain stretched and is failing. Dealer admits this is a known issue and that other model cars with same engine have been recalled for replacements. Although it's a know issue dealer is charging $2000 for the replacement of the timing chain with the one Chevrolet switch to in the next model year Camaro as they were aware of the issue.

The heater core in the Camaro has become faulty. It is leaking coolant onto the passenger floor area and also producing strong fumes within the cabin. It also makes visibility very difficult as the windows fog up and the defroster no longer works properly/.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2014

I noticed coolant leaking into passenger floorboard. The car was taken into the dealership and it was diagnosed with a leaking heater core. I started doing some research and found that several other Camaro owners have had this same issue, and during my research found a gm technical service bulletin for this heater core failure. (# pip-5457a) the dealership is wanting to charge for the new heater core, a windshield and labor.

The ac compressor in vehicle keeps going out. Its been replaced 3 times since October 2014. It does not cool vehicle, mechanics have checked for leaks and other issues that may be causing it to go out but it just seems to be a bad oem part. After each fix the ac works for about a month or less before going out again. Now the company is refusing to send a replacement or an upgraded part for a fix that is under warranty still and with summer in the south coming and no ac this can be a problem even with windows down. The mechanic found a technical bulletin for this issue of the company knowing this was an back in 2011 yet I received no bulletin prior to 2014 or assistance getting this fixed. I made calls to the warranty department and because I was just over the 80,000 miles for this part but under 100,000 miles bumper to bumper they refused to acknowledge the problem and no assistance without paying an additional fee to diagnose and replace at over $1000 after I already forked out $400 originally.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2014

Strange smell coming from ac for a while. 2 weeks ago ac stopped working completely. Took it to mechanic told me it was the evaporator core. He replaced it and it was very expensive and tedious job. Read some forum and other were complaining about the same smell and eventually the same problem. A car with only 60,000 miles should not have this problem.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2014

I took my car into a Chevrolet dealership immediately after I noticed my engine started to make noises. A couple of hours later, I got a call from the dealership and they told me there was engine damage. The service employee asked me why I waited so long to change the oil in the car. I told him that I waited for the car oil life system (ols) to alert me to change the oil, and that it doesn't alert me until 8,000 to 10,000 miles. He told me that I shouldn't wait that long, and he recommended to change the oil after 4,000 to 5,000 miles. I told him that gm needs to fix the (ols) to alert consumers sooner to change the oil. After I got off the phone, I did a google search and learned that there was a recall on the 2010-2012 Chevrolet equinox with a four-cylinder engine, and it will get its (ols) monitor recalibrated to shorten the interval between oil changes. So I think gm need to expand the recall to cover all models that have this problem. The dealership never recalibrated my (ols) system, and told me to just bring it in sooner for oil changes.

My husband and I was out and waiting to pull into a parking space and the car just shut down, without any warning and after the fact that it shut down it gave a message of "reduced engine power". He continuously tried to start the car back up with no luck. We contacted onstar who stated that the car needed to be on for them to give a diagnostics. We waited for about an hour and the car started back up but the engine light was on. The following Monday my husband took the car to the dealer and they stated they did this and that. Keep in mind the car is rarely driven, and two days after we received the car back it shut down again. Back to the shop it went, again they told us different things were done to the car. To keep a long story short the car has been to the shop 4 times with the same problem. The last time we were on the interstate moving with traffic and it shut down again. I found this to be very disturbing because if a 18-wheeler or another car was close enough to knock the car off the interstate, I probably wouldn't be making this complaint. I have never seen in my life a car that gives no warning until it is off and while you are driving in the midst of traffic. The car is a nice car on the outside but under the hood it is horrible. As I type this complaint the car is in the shop again with different excuses. I hope they can get to the bottom of the problem because I would really hate for there to be any more fatalities reported especially mine or one of my family members. I just want the problem to be corrected and not anymore running around about the problem. I am on my last leg of having any faith in gm.
