Body problems of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while driving the 55 mph the tonneau cover used to secure the soft top roof came off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the cover attachment was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,000. Jft.

I was going to work as I came down the off ramp I lost all power and hit a pole there was massive damage to the front end and to the engine also I never received a recall notice I did not find out about the recall untill I looked up on the internet what may have happend also my air bags never deployed.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph within cross winds, the convertible top cover, which was referred to as a tonneau, detached from the vehicle. The contact was unable to locate the convertible top cover when maneuvering to the side of the road. The convertible top cover would not be replaced due to concern of a potential safety hazard. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,500. Updated 06/06/12.

Within only one month convertable top had to be replaced. After 6 months another hole is developing on the convertable top due to chaffing from the frame assembly when down. It looks like the frame assembly is causing the damage to the convertable top. Gm has changed the first top but has put the second top in a status of awaiting engineering. Top is still not changed. Almost 4000 miles on car now.
