Key after turning car off doesn’t go all the way back to the unlock position to be released. Vehicle has to be re started and shut off to get the key to come out.
Blend door is broken and when doing research, I found this issue is common with 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaros. My car only had 57,000 miles on it when this occured.
The blender door is junk. It falls apart, so no air conditioning or worse, no heat. I got stuck in a traffic jam in freezing temps and despite blankets, I may lose a piece of my ear lobe. Flash forward, not a single local repair shop will fix this. They say it's a recall issue. . . Or one that should be. Sadly, the dealerships want $4k - $6k to fix it. Something that just is not in my budget with this economy. Chevrolet might want to fix this before someone loses more than an ear lobe. I will be suing if my doctor has to remove a portion of my ear. They were concerned over a stupid sticker on a visor, but not people freezing to death or dying of heat stroke. Do better Chevrolet. Do beter NHTSA - I filed a complaint about my Ford going into limp mode on a highway without warning over ten years ago and the only response from anyone was crickets.
The driver may accidentally bump the ignition key with their knee, moving the ignition.
When I drive my knee turns the key, causing a the car to turn off. This is a safety issue that is concerning I am a mom. Every time my knee hits the part key while the car is on it turns the car off. The heater is an issue I have air but no heat. In order for me to fix the heater I told they would have to remove the entire window, but I would have to sign a waiver, because the window could break. Then they would have to remove the dash and another part in order to fix the heat in the car. This is in my opinion a safety issue I don’t understand how the heater could be fixed without causing the window in the car to possibly break. I was told the chances of the window not breaking in order to fix the heater in the car is nearly impossible. Which means I would have to buy a window and pay for labor in order to fix the heat in the car. 1. I have an ignition issue my knee is turning off the car when I drive. 2. Fixing the heat in the car is nearly impossible. 3. Please help check for recalls.
The radio makes a loud pop & makes me jump as it goes on & off whenever it wants to. As this happens, the dash light turns off, the heater/ac turns off, the signal lights stop flashing, & when the turn signal is activated it makes a loud static noise that flashes through the speakers. It is a safety issue because it's distracting & it's dangerous for signal lights not to work properly. The car only had 60,000 miles when this began. I've been told there are computer chips, ecm modules, a new stereo with on star navigation & I honestly can't remember all that was tested wrong with the electrical system that is estimated at $1000 to repair. I have seen numerous complaints of the same issue on the web. I sincerely believe it is a problem Chevrolet is aware of & a recall should be made before an accident is caused.
Stress fractures to the windshield. Fatigue, vibrations from the car snapped the windshield. This the fourth time since we had to replace a windshield.
My 2014 Chevrolet the radio /air conditioning and a/c controls, overhead lightning and now the blinkers are popping cracking lighting up my electronics in the center console and it is very scary. The a/c clicks on and off my turn signals are effected and now I am having to get a jump to start my car and I have a 1 year new battery. I am afraid with this going on and it is a known problem for this car.
I totaled out my car I flipped 8 times landed on all four of my tires. My airbags didn't deploy. . None of them.
Key gets locked in the ignition after car is put into park and even after car has been turned off. For a while the stereo will turn off and on. Lights stay flickering from time to time.
Blend door broken.
There is a distracting pop in the radio which also affects the signal lights, the heater and air conditioner controls, and the controls for the radio itself. There are numerous complaints on the web for this same year vehicle with the same problem. It is very distracting as when the radio pops it makes a loud noise that is similar to running over something or hitting something with your vehicle. Also the tail light on the driver side won't stay on and the headlight on the passenger side has a short in it also. These problems I have been listed numerous times on the web. I have had several service mechanics look at it and they haven't been able to fix it as of yet. I recently read online. There is a short in those radios. But the radio is still is listed as at $700. I don't have this kind of money to replace it. And I'm not sure if that will fix the problem or not. I wrote to Chevrolet when it first happened about 35,000 mi ago. I got a reply that they didn't have enough complaints yet. I don't know if they ever looked on the web because at the time there were quite a few and they are still listed today. This was the year after I bought my car which would have been 2018. It's a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro LS. Please assist as this affects where I go as I am afraid that something will happen to my car since it affects so many things already. I don't want it to cause other problems as these are more than enough to affect my driving. My car had approximately 30,000, mi at the time this incident began.
I have a lot of problems with my a/c. I bought it new in 2014, in 2019 my coolant dye leaked out for no reason. I’ve had the condenser, clutch, dryer, and o rings replaced. The pressure is high because of a suspected blockage, which couldn’t be identified, in my a/c. I have to take in in to check for evaporator leak. The windshield has to be removed so I have to take it to the dealership.
Tl - the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated when parking the vehicle she was unable to take out the key. The the contact called but was unable to speak to local dealer dyer Chevrolet vero beach located at 1000 us-1, vero beach, FL 32960, (772) 617-4793, and left voicemail. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of failure. The failure mileage was 10,000. Dp.
The key to my ignition gets stuck when I attempt to turn the engine off. It takes almost 30 minutes to an hour for the ignition to release the key. In addition, it happens every time I try to take the key out of the ignition. I went to the dealership in regards to the issue as well as called general motors directly. I have not received any results from both options. I have been researching this issue in which I found that I am not the only person who is having this trouble. Almost every one with a Camaro has a problem getting their key out of the ignition. Not only is my battery draining and I am having to get the battery jumped, but it is very unsafe. My car is my only means of transportation in which I have to drive one hour plus to work everyday as well as take my child to school. The key gets stuck at all times. I am at risk for having my car stolen and even worse being stranded, as well as my child, trying to get the ignition to release the key. It is very draining having to wait long hours to get the key out of the car. I am also paranoid that the car will be stolen when having to leave the car for 30 plus minutes just to come back and have the key released. This is a pressing issue as it is definitely a manufacturers issue. It is interfering with me when I go to the grocery store, work, my child's school, and every other place that I have to travel to daily. The issue presented itself at the beginning of January and tends to only have gotten worst.
Ignition key issues I have been issues with the ignition switch not releasing my key after shutting off the vehicle. I have to turn my key counter-clockwise several times before the key actually releases. I believe I have a faulty ignition key switch that needs replacement. I have not received a recall notification regarding this concern, but hope to hear something soon. Thank you for your concern in this important matter.
Key keeps getting stuck in the admission when I put the car in park. It was sporadic but now its every time I go to pull my key out. I have read of many other Camaro owners having this same problem.
Vehicle was in motion on a highway, key must have moved from ignition and car shut down. Had to restart the car.
Heater core is leaking on 2014 Camaro with 50k miles. Repair is extensive involving removing the windshield and the entire front part of the interior. $1700-$2000 is the estimated bill and the car will probably never be the same since the dash parts were not designed to ne removed.
I own a Chevrolet, Camaro 2014. This car has a defect with the steering key ignition. The key will not release from the steering column. This is a defect as a simple google search will show how prevalent this issue as there are forums and youtube videos with consumers complaining about this issue with this car. Even when I was at the dealer there was another patron there with this car, complaint and diagnosis. This is not a normal wear and tear issue it is a material defect by the manufacturer that should be recalled as it is so common. Please assist. This may not seem like the same concern as an airbag but it is an issue as it allows the consumer to be vulnerable trying to get their key it of the ignition and in most cases failing to be able to do so and needing to either leave the vehicle, have it towed and possibly depending on where this happens being vulnerable. I was parked at a gas station at night, anything could have happened while I was fidgeting with this key and unable to get it to release.
The key to my vehicle would not release. This issue is plastered all over the internet as a continuous issue with this car. In fact, even when I was at the dealer there was another female customer with the exact same issue and whose car was diagnosed as needing a shifter. This issue needs to be recalled. While it may not seem the same as an airbag, women and also men can be placed in danger at night pulling up to gas stations, grocery stores, atom machines la their own driveways an unable to get their car out can leave them vulnerable to predators. It is unbelievable that such a consistent complaint with this car has not been addressed by the manufacturer. The frequency alone dictates this is a design flaw that should be corrected before someone is robbed, raped or worse by being distracted with this key, unable to release the key and move to safety at night.
My convertible top on my 2014 chevy Camaro leaked water in the rear passenger side. Gm said the passenger side door panel splash guard glue came off and the passenger side grommet was installed incorrectly. The service assistant said this "happens all the time with the Camaro convertibles". I would like the NHTSA to consider a recall for these issues and would like to request the number of reported similar problems that the NHTSA has received with regards to the same body style of chevy Camaro convertibles. Also gm refused to inspect for mold and never cleaned or replaced the carpet following the nonconforming condition. I believe this present a substantial danger to my family's safety and anyone else who rides in the vehicle. I live in alabama where mold grows profusely, which only serves to amplify the danger.
My car was part of the ignition switch recall in 2014. For the past week, whenever I park the car I can not get the key out of the ignition. The dealership explained that the problem is being caused by the shifter not communicating to the car that it's in "park" so it won't release the key. They also told me that since my car has 55,000 miles, the repair will not be covered under warranty because it's electrical and considered part of the "trim". They informed me that the repair would be in excess of $600. 00. I am extremely unhappy because I can't afford this repair and this is my only mode of transportation. The car is pretty much un-drivable at this point unless I want to get stuck somewhere.
Car ignition keeps hanging up and will not release key upon shut off. Traveling between states, a burning smell began to come through the vents, the car shut off without warning traveling 70 mph on the highway, remaining lit and appearing fully functioning. It struck me as very familiar to the ignition issue I have had for the way the car shut off and began to act. Upon stop and actually switching off, car would try to crank, but did not catch. After towing to dealership, car cranked and drove as usual. Check engine light indicated low fuel pressure, after diagnostics for the third time the dealership is still insisting nothing is wrong with this car. Key ring has a total of 3 keys and lightweight, definitely not weighing down the ignition. This is definitely computer related, electrical and affecting the mechanical ability of the car as well as the safety of the driver. I see numerous complaints about this issue online, no recalls have been found and Chevrolet is not correcting this despite numerous car fires reported and accidents probably caused.
I was at a stop sign waiting for a break to enter the flow of traffic . Traffic was heavy and not moving for a second or more and a vehicle that had stopped motioned for me to enter the road in front of him , a right turn, and at that moment I applied pressure to the accelerator and realized with no notice that the Camaro engine was no longer running, and I waived the courteous driver on. When I looked closely at the ignition with the switchblade swinging on the key wring and realized what had happened I broke out in a cold sweat! the ignition has the equivalent of a hair trigger. If I had entered traffic with the power this vehicle delivers with the switchblade swinging to the right the Camaro would have cut off leaving me and anyone near me in possible danger.
For the past year I have trouble taking the key out of the ignition when I park. I have to put the car on neutral or drive then back on park several times to get the key to come out. The body developed some dents on both sides which look like if I was in a hail storm, paid a few thousand to get the body repaired and the dents returned. Have that problem since I purchased the auto in 2014.
The key will get stuck in the ignition daily and I have to restart engine and shift into reverse and then shift back into park for the key to be removed. This process has to be completed several times before the key can be removed from the ignition. And one more issue my steering wheel makes a weird whiny noise as I turn it. It sounds like whale songs. Took it to dealer ship but they didn't fixed my issue.
While driving I smelled smoke. After looking around I saw my back seat full of smoke. I pulled over immediately and was able to safety get out of the vehicle. The trunk popped open with flames coming out. I have a convertible and the top instantly ignited. The firemen where able to put out the fire but the fire spread through out the car.
Heater core failed and has a leak. It is my wife's car. She was parked and it was a cold night in sf bay area. She got in, started the car and turned on the front windshield defroster. Immediately she could smell the odor and the windshield fogged over. She could see mist rising from the vents.
Tl - the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that their vehicle recieved a recall repair for the switch blade key to be repaired. The contact stated that the recall repair was done to one key however not the second key. The contact stated that repaired key malfunctioned. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. Gl.
Driving around exit 110 heading east on I-94, me and my wife were nearly run down by a crosset truck driver by the front of his truck. Based on the fact that the trailer was still in the right lane and the front of the truck rapidly swerned into the left lane, I would consider the idea that he dozed off. My wife swerved over and nearly hit the rails on the side of the highway to avoid a tragedy. And once we calmed down, we slowed way back and pulled over to let the trucker catch up to us. When he did I took pictures from my passenger seat so that we could identify the truck. When we reached the front of the vehicle at the drivers door with all of the necessary numbers, the driver stopped looking at the road and turned to take a picture of us. I am unsure why, but that is clearly illegal to use your phone or to fall asleep behind the wheel. I called the company and was told he is a professional so there was no reason to pull him off the road. Usdot # 551244, but I have pictures of the truck number and all additional identification numbers.
While driving, the tapshift lever was caught in the key ring attached to the key in the ignition. This caused the car to shift out of gear, as if being put into neutral, so that the car slowed very suddenly and dangerously. This happened only when making sharp right turns, as when turning at an intersection. This occurred several times throughout the day, until we realized that the tapshift lever was only able to get caught on the keyring when the steering wheel was fully lowered. Adjusting the steering wheel height resolved the issue.
Recall notice 14v346 received for ignition key replacement from gm in August 2014 and dealer notice of past due service recall for this same safety issue also received November 2014. When I called today to get my 2014 Camaro safety repaired the service provider at the dealer where I purchased the vehicle said the parts are on back order and would not make an appointment for the safety repair?! she advised me to call back in 10 days. Gm must really be concerned about my safety to not have safety recall parts available for repairs. Also, I previously purchased an additional ignition key with transmitter from the dealer for this vehicle. Why will gm not also replace this transmitter/ignition key under this safety recall?.
This car shut-off on me on two separate occasions when I backed out and when I made a right turn onto a busy street.
