I have a serious safety issue with this vehicle. My wife often rides with me in the passenger seat. She weighs approximately 130 pounds and the passenger airbag fails to turn on about 50% of the time. In order to activate the airbag system, we have to stop the vehicle, then she has to exit and re-enter the seat. This usually turns the airbag on. This is at best, inconvenient, but at worst in some situations it is hazardous! the local dealer contacted gm/tac in detroit and their response was as follows: "your vehicle is operating as designed. This is normal operation of the vehicle per tac that anyone 120 pounds and under will not trigger the airbag light to come on. This is the final gm resolution at this time" the 120-130 pound airbag threshold seems unusually high to me. Is this a normal design feature for all of these cars? why is this way? if I had known that when considering the vehicle I would not have purchased it. This is an ongoing problem. It started in Sep. 2015 and continues to this day (Jan. 10, 2016).
Almost 5 years after driving the vehicle off the lot and the warri has expired my airbag light can't be repaired by the nearby dealership for < $400. No really as of yet. While driving a month off the lot my vehicle was t-boned on the passenger side by a hit & run driver. Every since my steering wheel vibrates.
