The back glass is separating from each of the bottom and sides of the top. Gm knows that this is a major problem and only covered the original owner but I bought the car with just over 50,000 miles on it and it was a [xxx] bought car and I bought it from a dealership in [xxx] and I noticed the top after I got back to [xxx] with it. I was told by a gm dealership that gm is aware of the defect but they only said that they would fix it if I was the original owner and it was still under warranty. My son bought a kia that had the head gasket problem and they replaced it with a brand new engine and he didn't have to be the original owner, the vehicle just had to fall under the certain miles to be covered. Gm should be doing the same thing because it's a major safety issue. If you're going down the road with the windows rolled down and the wind tears it from the top that glass is going to hit something or someone. And getting hit by something like that can seriously hurt or kill someone. This should be a mandatory recall so people that are like me that buys a vehicle that has a known issue and the manufacturer is refusing to fix it just because someone isn't the original owner is just trying to weasel out of their responsibilities, it's not like it was just a few vehicles involved it's been several years of vehicles involved so they've had to know about the problem but they still chose to use those defective tops they'll fix it for anywhere between 2500 to 4000 to 5000 for parts and labor. That's a scam I don't know when the separation started because I had bought it used and I didn't see it until a few days later after I bought it and licensed it. . I can add photos of the entire car it's still like new information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Rear window glass in convertible top became delaminated from seal at all corners. Glass rattled when windows were down like it was going to blow off the car. This is a safety issue as the glass may fly off the car. The dealership said they will not warranty the top past 36,000 miles. This is third third top installed on this car. This defect occurs after about 1 1/2 to 2 years before a new one is needed.
Rear window separating from convertiable. Local chevy dealer has inspected the car. Safety issue for others as it can come off while driving. Gm recalled 2017 & 2018 for faulty glue adhering gm headquarters has been contacted.
