1 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2025

I have noticed that my car is shuttering/vibrating. I feel it in the steering wheel/gas pedal to my seat. It starts at 35mph plus and at different speed intervals. I either have to decelerate or accelerate to get it to quit. My neighbor who is a mechanic at maserati/Porsche dealer road with me to verify and also pulled up codes. None were set off. He researched complaints of same issues. Possible fixes could be from changing transmission fluid/flushes/torque converter replacement. Apparently a common issue problems reported. Under 80gs on odometer. Another reported high issue I had to take care myself. Was the back window coming unglued to top. The recalled 17s and 18s due to glue defects. I contacted gm/chevy and the only thing they are willing to do is give me 230$ which doesn't even put a dent in the charge of a real fix.

2 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2025

Was stoped at a stop sign. When I tried to accelerate the car acted like it didn’t want to go and the back wheels locked up causing a screeching noise. Before coming to the stop sign it felt like it was having a shuddering affect. Luckily there was no traffic and it finally shifted out but wouldn’t accelerate very well. I was able to make it home and the check engine is now on. It was definitely scary experience and now I’m kinda afraid to drive it. This car is low mileage (less than 50k) and a daily driver.

3 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2025

Vehicle is doing a hard shift from first to second, severe shuddering, sometimes when braking vehicle acts like it wants to surge forward took to a transmission shop I have a bad torque converter and was told this is a problem with the 8 speed transmission from gm. This is a known issue with these transmissions that gm /dealership knew and refuse to fix. The vehicle stalled on me on a road at night where there's no stores, I'm a female alone on a dark road for about 30 minutes trying to get car to start. Luckily it did. This could've caused an accident and my safety was at risk being stranded alone at night. I was told to not drive the car until fixed. I do not have the funds to fix this issue and gm does not respond to requests, Chevrolet is not helping either.

4 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2025

The transmission shutters at several speed intervals causing jerking of the vehicle on the roadways.

5 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2025

Transmission failed and need to be replaced at about 60,300 miles, just after the warranty expired. Told by the dealership multiple times the hard downshifts and odd shift patterns were normal and not an issue. Turns out it was the transmission valve body failing, causing the entire transmission to fail. Components are not available for inspection. I was able to limp the car home and to the dealership as failure was mainly slippage. There were no warning lights. The transmission was serviced in at approx. 25,000 miles and wiring harness replaced.

6 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2023

Bulletin no. : 19-na-018 shake and/or shudder during light throttle acceleration between 40 and 128 km/h (25 and 80 mph) at a steady state. Safety issues: slipping clutch, worn-out gears, or low transmission fluid, problems with the torque converter or other transmission components. After several visits to the dealer, the problem was diagnosed by a service bulletin in 2023. The vehicle was inspected by a Chevrolet dealer. I received no warnings prior to the failure of the issue. This problem appeared at 30k miles but became severe at 43k miles.

7 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2023

2019 chevy Camaro transmission is shuddering. In other words it feels like my car is running over rubber strips on the road between 40 mph to 80mph. I know there is several tsbs that gm has put out on this issue with the a8. Went to lynn smith Chevrolet on 07/06/2023 and was told since my car is out of warranty it would cost me 625 dollars to have the transmission flushed and have the new synthetic transmission fluid in it. They said that’s the first step gm wants service depts to do. I’m sorry but if gm knows this is a problem then there should be a recall on it. I know there are already class action lawsuits on this problem. I can’t afford to have my transmission drained 2 or three 3 times. It is causing safety risk when you accelerate and lose power on the interstate or it is sluddering as you pick up speed at a red light. Thought the problem was my tires so had 2 new sets put on and realized it wasn’t the tires.

8 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2023

While cruising (not accelerating) or accelerating very slowly, the transmission goes into a shutter. I do believe this would be caused by the torque converter. Could be faulty. Seems to be a very common trend.

9 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2023

While accelerating my Camaro begins to shake violently kind of like a shuttering. It happens on cruise control also. The violent shaking makes it hard to keep control of the vehicle. I looked online and found thousands of owners with the same problems. The weirdest thing is that my check engine light comes on for a few days then goes off for months. This absolutely needs to be recalled! I’m going in for my second opinion tomorrow but the last mechanic said I can replace the torque converter or that I might have a misfire in my engine. People need to be compensated for these expensive repairs, especially sense the car is so expensive. Gm had to know these parts were faulty. In no way shape or form, is there this many complaints about a vehicles parts and as a company they knew nothing about it. These mishaps are extremely dangerous and could be life threatening.

10 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2023

Transmission shudders going 25 to 80 mph.

11 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2020

The car sometimes will not start. Key fobs have been replaced new from Chevrolet dealer also new battery and multiple Chevrolet dealers can not find a problem but many times the car will not start.

12 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

My 2019 Camaro ss2 brand new shut down and restarted 3 times while in motion. Then I stopped killed engine and it wouldn't restart, couldn't turn on flashers, completely dead. I finally opened driver door and closed and was able to start it. The steering quit while parking, and periodically the car wont lock. Dealer said nothing wrong, no codes.

13 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2020

My transmission has an issue where it is difficult to shift into 2nd gear and sometimes when shifting into second gear, it kicks me out and places me in neutral. The housing on the transmission and the transmission is defective and the Chevrolet dealers do it want to help me!.

14 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2019

From the start of buying the car the transmission has shifted funny. The dealership was advised of this several times and always said nothing was wrong with it. Now the transmission is shuttering when going into higher gears.

15 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2019

Today in the morning, I was driving on the highway to work and as I was driving at about 45 mph, I heard a clunk sound under the car and the engine light came on. I slowed down and stopped at a traffic light and then I begin to drive again and I noticed that my car was driving at a high rpm and it seemed like was stuck at a shift and it didn't want to change gears so I slowed down pulled into an entrance and turned off my vehicle I looked under the car and I didnt see anything wrong; no leaks or nothing. I turned it back on and drove it to auto parts to see have them run a check engine light test and 3 codes came up which was p0964, p0966, and p0700. After that I took it back home at a slow speed and left it there until I got back home from work. I started my car up and didnt see the check engine light on anymore. I called my dealership to have it serviced and checked.
