One problem related to accelerator pedal has been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Under the instrument panel, directly over the control pedals there is a plastic cover that protrudes, causing driver's foot to get stuck when releasing the accelerator pedal.
