Two problems related to brake disc caliper have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle's front abs braking system calipers locked up and would not release after only driving 47 miles, brand new off the lot. Smoke was coming from brakes.
When the brakes are applied the pedal goes top the floor, resulting in extended stopping distance. The dealer has replaced the caliper on the vehicle.
