Had multiple brake line failures in the last 2 months. First being the main line to the rear brakes, then brake line to the right front wheel, then line to left front wheel. While truck was being worked on it was noticed that the front frame rail was starting to rust through near where the front bumper mounts, also noticed rust on the frame at front of cab area,
this is not surface rust, this is rusted through the frame and has large rust scales. It is primarily in the area of the cab and forward. Frame seems to be okay from the cab back, problem is where the frame is enclosed.

Had corroded fuel lines replaced. Mechanic stated that brake lines looked in bad shape and suggested they be replaced also. Had limited usage of my truck while I looked into having them replaced. On one occasion I was approching a stop sign with my wife in truck, as I went to stop, line ruptured, pedal went to floor and I came close to going through stop sign in front of oncomming car. I replace the line since it was easy, and now on 7/8/2003 two more lines have ruptured.
Driving approx 35 mph brake pedal went to floor, pedal was spongy and no real braking power. Found brake lines rusted thru and other signs of corrosion under body. Replace two lines. On October 24, 2012 truck lost braking power again. Found more rusted out lines.
