Three problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet C/k Pickups. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
: the contact stated when the brake was applied, the pedal felt spongy. The abs kicked in at 10 mph. There was a NHTSA recall, # 05v379000, regarding the service brakes, hydraulic: antilock. The vehicle was not included in the recall due to the VIN. Updated 04/05/jb.
: the contact stated the abs engaged while applying brake pressure at speeds of 10mph or less. The vehicle was seen by a dealer and the front brakes were replaced. Although the problem persisted, no further repairs were made. There is a NHTSA recall, # 05v379000, regarding the antilock brakes. The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the VIN.
I own a 1999 Chevrolet k-1500 pick-up truck. I'm experiencing the same problems with the anti-lock brakes as the other 1999 trucks in the investigation issued 5/02/05. I agree this is a safety issue and believe gm needs to recall the vehicles ASAP. In the recall please include the Chevrolet c/k 1500 pick-up trucks.
