1 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2017

Takata recall: my air bag sign probably in the beginning of January had appeared, and obviously they have not been working. I had gotten into an accident on January 31st and they did not deploy. I am not positive if this is a part of the recall situation, but it happened out of no where, I just turned my car on one day and it stopped working. Also in the accident my car was sitting at a red light and hit between the range of 35-40 mph.

2 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2012

The rims on these 2007 Cobalts bend easy with the size of tire they are sold with. Any pot hole hit at speeds of 30 - 55 mph will bend these tire rims. I have replaced 2 rims at $ 111. 00 apeice and my back rims are bent also. Wal-mart, tiemans tire and other tire stores are aware of the bad rims on these Cobalts. You can not find any used rims anymore due to all are used to replace other bent rims on Cobalts. This can cause you to loose control of your car if a pot hole bends a rim an you loose all air pressure in the tire. It will act as though the tire blew out with sudden air pressure loss. It is not a safe car to drive with this problem.

3 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2010

Gm's steel wheel rims (part number: stl08021u45 / base part# : stl08021u ) are dangerously weak metal/ - they bend very easily. I have 3 bent rims on my 2007 chevy Cobalt. (these same model was also standard on 2007-2008 Saturn aura, and 2006 -07 Chevrolet malibu ) I have 3 bent rims according to a gm dealership and another repair shop - and was told that need to be replaced. I tried to buy replacements but was told they are on "hold" by gm. No replacement. These rims are ruining my car by straining the wheel bearings, the alignment, and tires, not to mention jeopardizing my safety and those driving around me. There should be a recall on these cheap dangerous rims!.

4 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2010

I drive a 2007 chevy Cobalt with defective steel wheels. Have had gm dealer send photos to gm rep in the area, denies my claim on my defective steel factory 15inch wheels. There are cracks that start in the center of the wheel then they travel right to the circles in the wheel.

5 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2009

2007 chevy Cobalt, 61,000 miles, both front wheel bearings needed replacement. Severe grinding sound and pulling to the left. I had to pay to replace both wheel bearing assemblies for $850. 00.

6 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2007

- the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. While driving at 35 mph the vehicle began to slide from side to side and vibrate. The weather conditions were snowy at the time of the incident. The dealer stated the failure occurred due to the snow trapped in the wheels. The contact stated that the wheels were a defective and a safety hazard.
