11 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2016

Had this vehicle only 6 months and had the fluid changed. Then went to move it and reverse was only forward and forward was forward. Had it towed to the dealer. They diagnosed and said there was no gears. They said it need a transmission. Also they said it need a new radiator, because of the back flow from the transmission. The radiator would cost about 700. Dollars. Has there been any problem with the transmission with other vehicles? does the dealers diagnose or do they repair the item. I think the problem was the shifting pin went out with the shifting, but they put in and charged for a new transmission.

While driving on nys I-90, my 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt LS 2010 went into "engine power reduced" and I was not able to drive over 40 mph. I pulled off to the shoulder and waited for about 10 minutes. I started back up, check engine light remained on and car stays in limp mode. The vehicle now idles rough, accelerates slow when at red lights and stop signs and bucks when shifting gears. First at 10 mph (hard buck) than (lighter buck) at 20 mph, and continues lighter through acceleration. 17 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

I have a chevy Cobalt lt 2010. I got it used with 40000 miles on last year. I was in my car driving back home from school. All the sudden I smelled gas or burned oil. It is happening every once a while but I never paid attention to it. I pulled over. I turned my car off and I turned it back on in some couple minutes. Also it takes me a while to switch the gear when I am in the highway. The brakes also are not working as I am pushing them hard. They have a delay to stop my car. I did not know anything about the chevy Cobalt recall. When I got the notification letter from gm I realized that I should report these issues that have been constantly happening to my car. I am student. I do really need my car for my daily commute. I am going to ask gm to rent a car for me until the part gets fixed. However, even after this car gets fixed I am thinking that this car is not reliable to drive any more. I am not really feeling safe driving this car. I have heard that there have been some accidents due to the engine ignition issues and other issues regarding to this car. I am really scared about driving my car again, even if this gets fixed.

19 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2013

While driving along in my Cobalt, suddenly, without warning, the engine power dropped off and the vehicle basically came to a stop in busy traffic. This, (affecting power steering, speed, control and stability),but, . . Most importantantly !!, . . Severely threatened the safety of vehicle occupants. It was all I could do to get out of harms way. . (. . I was turning left, safely spacing oncoming traffic when this happened the 1st time. . ). !! very scarey when cars are blasting toward you and the car won't respond as it should. This has happened many more times since that first encounter and at any time, without prior warning, it will put you in very hazardous, unsafe, dangerous and potentially deadly situations. . !!!! nice enjinerung job gm . . . !!! (where's the common sense or forethought. . ??).

The little orange piece of plastic "shift indicator" that says what gear I'm in broke. And for a 2 year old car it should not have as its in a sealed enclosure. Gm says I'm on my own because bumper to bumper warranty is expired.
