Consumer has been having an alternator problem since purchase of vehicle. Air conditioner & heater kill the alternator. Alternator has been replaced 6 times. Consumer felt that alternator may be defective or the wiring needed to be checked. Consumer will go to a Chevrolet dealer.

2 Alternator/generator/regulator problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2000

Alternator has failed 2 time within 67125 miles abs light came on and car died.

3 Alternator/generator/regulator problem

Failure Date: 01/19/1998

Alternator shorted out, causing vehicle to stall.

4 Alternator/generator/regulator problem

While going up a hill in traffic, the engine suddenly died. There was no warning. Consumer had taken the vehicle to the dealer, they replaced battery/alternator and the timing belt. The light had come on for coolant, but the thermometer never gave warning, the mechanic bled the lines to the coolant and the light still remained on. Consumer felt that something was electrically wrong with the vehicle and wanted chevy to offer a buy back in which they refused.

Battery and alternator failure due to elecrtical problems, three times prior to 50,000 miles.

Abs light comes on then the alternator is dead, replaced alternator three times, cannot find the problem other than the alternator.
