Emission Control problems of the 2000 Chevrolet Corvette

1 Emission Control problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2005

-the contact stated that he had a problem with smelling fumes from the 2000 Chevrolet Corvette. When approaching the vehicle he could smell the fumes coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that he was informed by the service mechanic at jn Chevrolet, that the right exhaust pipe was too close to fuel tank which caused the tank to heat up and expand, and that caused the smell of gasoline. The contact has had 3 repairs done to the vehicle because of these fumes. They replaced the fuel cap, and the O2 sensor. The contact found out that he needed the fuel tank replaced on 10/20/06. The contact stated that the dealership ordered the tank at that time, and as of 2/16/07 had not received the fuel tank. The contact had called the dealership on a number of occasions ,and they continue to tell him the tank hadn't arrived. The contact called the manufacturer and they informed the contact that it shouldn't have taken this long. The current mileage was 40000.

2 Emission Control problem

When fuel tank is completely full fuel leaks from the top of the vent. Please give any further details.
