The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette. While backing out of a parking space, the steering wheel suddenly locked up and a message indicating a steering lock failure was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who indicated that the electronic column locking system failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 04v060000 (steering). The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 81,000.

2 Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2011

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact was driving 65 mph when the steering wheel failed to turn in any direction. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 80,221 and the current mileage was 80, 331.
