While driving in a straight line at approximately 65 mph, the traction control system strongly applied the left front brake. The application of brake was sudden and very strong, nearly causing a loss of control.
My active handling comes on for no apparent reason in my Corvette causing immediate uncontrollable braking. It results in swerving and dangerous conditions.
I purchased a 2006 Corvette in June of 2010. Since then I have had various electrical problems including, high and low tire pressure warnings, flat tire warning (tires were fine), service active handling system (has happened twice while driving, front tires locked up. . Almost got rear ended. I was sitting at a light, when to turn left and front tires locked up. Pushed the clutch in several times but tires still locked up. Turned off the active handling . . Chose comp drive mode, problem went away. Serveral times lately the push button start does not start the engine, everything else comes on but nothing from the engine. Change to a different gear, push clutch back in, nothing. . After several attempts, it finally 'catches" and starts. The tires have locked up twice since June of 2010. The push button start began malfunctioning on a daily bases about 3 weeks ago. I do not wish to fly off the highway into a ditch before this can be fixed. (active handling).
I own a 2006 chevy Corvette. I first got the service active handling light when I bought my car used at 31k mi. I took it in for service and the dealer fixed the issue by putting the plastic clip in the swps plug, as listed in the TSB. Approx 10 months later the service active handling came back on. It comes on sometimes and not others. Fortunately none of my wheels have locked up but I am worried for my safety and my families safety. Of course my car is out of warranty( 900 miles out) and I have to pay to solve this problem on my own dollar and worry that the wheels could lock up.
