The contact stated the warning light illuminated on several occasion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. 2 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2014

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 mph, the service active handling system warning light illuminated. Also, the contact mentioned when the steering wheel was moved forward the front driver side brake caliper engaged independently causing the vehicle to shift to the left and into another lane. Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette. While driving approximately 80 mph, the rear end of the vehicle suddenly began swaying from left to right abnormally. Failure Date: 10/04/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Corvette c6. While driving 65 mph the vehicle started to shake and it became difficult to control the steering wheel. The active control handling system light illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians replaced a sensor in the steering column. The manufacturer stated that recall NHTSA campaign number 10v172000, steering column was related; however, the vehicle was not included. The vehicle was repaired. 5 Steering Column problem

The contact stated that he received notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 10v172000 (steering column) and took the vehicle to the dealer for repairs may 2010. The contact stated that he experienced a loss of power steering following the recall repairs. The manufacturer advised taking the vehicle back to the dealer for repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette with the contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed the "service active handling system" warning light illuminated which was a result of NHTSA recall 10v172000, steering column. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but they were been unable to resolve the failure since they were unable to duplicate the failure. The contacts vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure began to occur on a daily basis. The failure mileage was 33,000.

7 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette. The service active handling warning light illuminated on the dashboard. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who replaced the steering wheel position sensor. The failure recurred within 10,000 miles. The dealer installed an unknown clip in the steering wheel position sensor to maintain its stability. The contact also inquired about NHTSA campaign id number: 10v172000 (steering column) and the dealer advised the recall repair had previously been performed on the vehicle. The vehicle was not serviced. The dealer was advised that the wire connector and not the sensor was defective.
