8 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 11/08/2013

While driving, the low beam headlights suddenly went out. After further investigation, a known and documented problem regarding the fuse block under the hood was the culprit. There is a copper wire within the fuse block that loses connection due to the high heat that occurs in the fusebox circuitry but to date, gm has not issued a TSB or recall concerning this potentially dangerous issue.

9 Headlights problem

Low beam headlights on 2007 Corvette shut off without warning. Fog and high beams continue to work. It appears the low beams work initially but then stop working after the engine heats up. This happens very often. Last time they stopped working on the highway at 65 mph.

12 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2013

While traveling to macon GA about 11 pm in the evening, the low beam lights just went out. I took the vehicle to the dealer the next day to figure out what was wrong. The dealer stated the fix would be nearly $1,400 to remove and replace the low beam headlights (required removal of the bumper). They never stated there were problems with the lights or the low beam system or in general, assumed any responsibility whatsoever. Very disappointed to date; sounds like not only a safety issue but one that will cost me to correct.

16 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2013

The low-beam headlights on the c6 base model Corvette 2005-2008 will stop working with out notice while driving at night. This is due to a known issue with the copper wire connections located within the fusebox. Due to defect and being close to engine bay, heat causes a break in the circuit wire that separates after the engine bay heats up (approx. 20 mins of driving) and without notice, your lights go out. Very very dangerous when driving on highways at speed. Please issue a recall on the fusebox.

17 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 11/27/2012

Owner of 2007 Corvette coupe. Vehicle headlights went completely out while driving on the freeway. The next day headlights worked until the car was warmed up then failed agin. After reviewing online Corvette forum there were many many complaints of the problem which is attributed to the faulty wiring inside the fuse box under the hood. Had to replace the fuse box at a cost of $400. But this issue will likely re occur because the new fuse box will develop the same problem over time since it has not been redesigned.

18 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2012

Driving at night, 45 mph on smooth pavement. Low beam headlights went out, high beam remained functional. Since that time whenever driven low beams work until engine compartment warms up and do not work again until engine compartment cools down.

19 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2012

I was driving home at night and my headlights automatically just turned off and wouldn't come back on. . . I needed to turn on my high beams in order to make it home safe. . . After getting home and letting the car sit for an hour they came back on. . I read some Corvette forums online and saw many people had the same issues. . I guess when the car gets hot there's a issue with the Corvette fuse box making the lights just turn off. That is ridiculous!! stupidest system in the planet. . . Please, please talk to chevy about this issue. . . Imagine how many Corvettes they sell and the potential hazard this could cause on the road. . . Now I have to go to chevy and spend $800 to get this fixed can u believe that! for something that should never ever occur.

20 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2009

In may 2009 I made a road trip from my home in NY to tampa FL, when I left NY my 2007 zo6 Corvette had 1500 miles during the trip I was not involved in any accidents, when I arrived in FL the next day (drove straight through) I noticed that both front headlamp lenses had numerous tiny cracks in them, I called a local gm dealer, I explained the situation, they stated " I must have hit something" I was livid I then called my dealer in NY they said not to worry and would look at the vehicle when I returned. I arrived home on a Saturday night 1st thing Monday I called beck Chevrolet and spoke to the service manager, he said bring it over ,I drove car over immediately, only the service manager looked at car, no 1 else saw my vehicle the service manager stated there was no chemical on my headlights, he said there was a bulletin from gm and they could do nothing, it was a mysterious chemical that caused this problem, I then called gm and asked for a review, when I called gm back several days later they said they spoke to a mechanic @ beck chevy who stated " that he inspected my car and there was a chemical on my head lights, this is no way true I was present during the entire time 20 min car was @ dealer and only the service manager looked at vehicle. I then called gm again and wrote a few letter explaining what happen, they said chemicals used by auto detailers causes headlights to crack, I brought up the point that beck chevy had an outside person detailing my vehicle when I picked it up, but they couldn't tell me why and what chemicals he used ( I personally saw this person detail my vehicle), I gotten no other response from gm. I believe that the lenses cracked because of heat from the long drive to FL from NY with the daytimerunning lights and have the lights on throughout the night, lights were on for approximately 20 hours straight. On the way home I turned the daytime lights off but turned them on at night, as of today my Corvette ( baby ) has 4,013 miles.
