Service active hndlg message on the dic. Not able to put in drive due to this message. Read a lot of forums. There are recalls on up to 2007 but the 2008 Corvettes are having the same issues.
Developed fuel leak above left side tank coming from known faulty fuel pump connector elbow at top of tank. Extreme gas fumes prevent parking in garage for fear of vapors igniting causing an explosion. Can not rule out possibility of drips or spray hitting hot exhaust. Will be seeking repair ASAP as this is not safe to drive or park in enclosed environment.
Smell of raw gasoline coming from drivers side gas tank area after filling gas tank ,just bought the car had half tank of gas at the dealer didn’t smell when I checked the car then.
Driver's door release not working again after being repaired years ago. Cannot leave car without using the emergency release lever.
My service active handling system light keeps coming up on my message center, while I'm driving my car on any city street or road!.
Strong smell of gasoline after fueling the car, strong smell in the garage where the vehicle is parked. Smell is even present when driving with an open window.
We recently purchased the car and it is a convertible and we cant get the top working at all. We took it where we purchased it and they don't have a clue how to fix it. This is the second thing that was wrong. We got the fuel pump leak repaired. We cant enjoy the car if the top doesn't work. It doesn't make sense to pay for something if you cant enjoy it.
Gear shift release button locks and operator is unable to shift vehicle back into park or even reverse at times. Vehicle may also get stuck in reverse and not be able to go back into park nor drive. Issue has happened several times and makes vehicle undriveable due to this malfunction.
Could not shift (auto trans) out of park vehicle is 10 year old, 3,974 miles, never been in rain, kept in climate control environment.
My shift lever (a6) frequently locks on p. I need to change the transmission control shifter (2006-08 Corvette at (25913058) I am informed about the french and american forums and it is a very common flaw to the Corvette c6. Yet there have never been any reminders to correct this flaw. The infamous dash buzzing (windshield cowl) problem also, I have tremendous vibrations in the windscreen and this is part of the frequent flaws on the c6 Corvettes can be until the year 2010. My Corvette had 77600 km at the time of the facts can you help me for gm france to take care of these vehicle design flaws. Thank you the 1st phone number is not correct it is to validate my request I used google translate.

Strong smell of gasoline on left side of car. No visible leak on the floor.
Automatic shifter assembly intermittently gets stuck in park. The condition continues to deteriorate. The problem occurs when the car is in park. The problem is occurring more often now than in the past.
The car has a very strong gasoline smell when the gas tank is full. The smell is so strong in the garage that I fear it may cause a fire.
I have visited the dealership twice and going on the third time and they have failed/refused to fix the problem. This is in regards to a emission system recall. Gm set up an appointment, I showed up and they gave me the run around and said they could not work on the car. Called gm and complained and set up a second appointment and I showed up again and after two hours was told to come back on another day as they could not loosen the bolts. The car is in new shape and garaged. This is a dealership. What an excuse. Gm has been of no help and the dealership has failed/refused to do the recall work. I have tried and lost two days trying and going on three. Please help. I visited the dealership on oct 17 and 31st.
Could not get my car out of park.
Sideswiped and t-boned by tractor trailer, air bags did not deploy.
Brake-automatic transmission interlock often fails to allow shifting out of park. Brake light fuse & switch are operational. Transmission shift lever solenoid does not click/release when brake pedal is depressed. This results in a car that cannot be moved.
When I fill my Corvette fuel tank past 1/2 tank or more, I smell and ingest fuel vapors/odor. . . Enough to cause me and my passenger headaches and light headedness, feelings of being sick. My garage fills up with the fuel fumes/odor also. . . I have to air it out for a long time and even leave the garage door open to help dissapate the fuel vapor/odors. Inside the vehicle gets an intense fuel vapor/odor. I exchanged the fuel cap with an oem fuel cap with no improvement. The odor outside the car seemed to be coming from directly behind the driver side/fuel cap area. I dare say that I cannot down play this faint feeling and headaches from the strong fuel odor that this vehicle gives off, especially inside the cock pit/cab of the vehicle. . . . It's very intense. Thorobred Chevrolet of chandler arizona could not find the source of the odor before the car went out of warranty. . . Go figure! the fuel fumes are even stronger when the weather is warmer. Here in arizona, we have temperatures in the 110 to 120 degree range and the fumes are bluntly unbearable at that point this fuel defect thing is occurring daily. . . Driving home with a car cooked in the sun and fuel infused in the cock pit bears heavy upon me. . . The smell never goes away. . . Life sucks with a $740 Corvette payment I don't like driving it anymore because gm won't recall or fix it.
At various speeds, the computer display panel reads, "service active handling system" accompanied by a swerving car icon and an alerting ding sound. The message comes on periodically, lasting up to 15 or 20 minutes at a time, then shutting off. Sometimes upon starting the engine the message will appear and other times the message will be off for days at a time. It always reappears. Over the years the brake light switch and brake sensors have ben replaced (4/18/11; 10/8/11; 12/4/12) as well as replacement of the fob (12/18/12). Although this display message has appeared numerous times over the years, the most recent occurrences are as follows: 5/1/13; 4/30/13; 4/25/13; 3/28/13; 10/30/12. Two Chevrolet dealerships have been unable to resolve this malfunction to date (5/2/13). Since 10/30/12, this car has been seen six times for the same problem at two different Chevrolet dealerships. There was a recall in 2005 for this problem: "steering recall 2005-2006" ". . . In rare cases, repeated movement of the steering column may cause a signal interruption within the column. If this occurs, the message, "service active handling system" will appear. . . And one or more of the brakes may apply. . . ". There have also been display messages on my car reading, "press brake to start engine", so this problem, in my mind, is related to the "active handling system" issue.
Traction does not prevent wheel spin at any speed. The car will loose rear wheel traction at any speed. Engine speeds of 5,000 rpm and above cause tires to loose traction under moderate acceleration. Car is stock and still under warranty.
