Two problems related to other fuel system tank filling/charging have been reported for the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette. The most recently reported issues are listed below. After filling the gas tank there is a noticeable smell of gas that's exists. When garage kept the smell fills the entire garage with a gas smell. The gas cap is fully secured and there are no noticeable leaks or puddles on the ground.
Stationary vehicle was filling enclosed garage with gas fumes. Source of problem was fractured high pressure 90 degree fitting in fuel pump atop left fuel tank. Entire fuel pump assembly had to be replaced. Photo attached showing fracture in fitting and showing the fuel pump part number. Contacted Chevrolet. No resolution.
