3 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2018

Two months ago, the car would crank, but not start. After several tries, and waiting overnight to continue trying, I had the car taken to the dealer. Tow driver drops car off flatbed, service writer gets in to cycle through to get mileage, etc, and the car starts. No error codes. They keep it for a few days, but no further problem. Ten days ago, same problem. Tow driver tries to start the car to drive off flatbed, without success. Dealer observes the problem, but, again, car starts for the service writer, and no codes. Leave it for several days, but no repeat of the prob. A few days ago, same problem, except now the car is on the verge of starting, not just cranking, and I can smell fuel (this was not the case previously). The car was low on fuel when I left, and the low fuel warning had come on a few miles before I stopped. So, I get some gas in the car, eventually 1/2 a tank, and now the car is just cranking, not on the verge, and aaa is called to tow it. At this point, the attempts are taking their toll on the battery, but I continue trying, and, while the tow truck is en route, it starts just like always (push button, engine starts, no lag or hesitation). Dealer thinks it's fuel related, but doesn't know what the problem is, so has no idea what to do. Online forums suggest that it's an overheated fuel pump relay, or connectors thereto, resulting ultimately in a complete fuse box replacement.

4 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/29/2016

Strong fuel odor in the garage, around the left rear wheel well and inside the vehicle after parked for sometime. Gm Chevrolet dealer diagnose the problem to crack fuel pump module left side behind the driver seat. Gm Chevrolet has had the fuel module on backorder for the last week.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/29/2016

Strong gas odor in garage and car after parking. Dealer said fuel pump module is cracked, which means raw gas is being sprayed in area around fuel tank as you drive. Dealer says this is a known issue as he has 2 other customers with same problem.

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2016

Strong gas smell when above half full. Tested many times and is likely related to gm special coverage adjustment 15682, which describes problem perfectly (fuel pump fitting cracks), a very expensive fix. Many others like this posted here. However, dealer says my VIN is not included in special adjustment even though it is within the described year range (2007-2013). This is not right. Please help gm realize they didn't get all vins included that need to be. I bought my car in may 2013, so unlikely it should be precluded.

7 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2016

Every time I fill up with gas I smell a strong odor of gas for the next few days until the fuel level goes down (driven daily). I can smell the gas odor in and outside of the vehicle and it also fills up my garage with gas fumes. I do not overfill when putting gas in. After looking into this it appears to be a common problem with leaks in the fuel pump to fuel tank area or cracks around tank fittings, and should be looked into as a very serious safety issue.

8 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

Strong fuel smell coming from left side of car. Fuel leaks from fitting at top of fuel pump assembly in left side tank. Many of us Corvette forum owners have had this happen. There's even a you-tube video showing where the "crack" occurs. Not acceptable to have to repair this after only 3 years of ownership.
