general problems of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette equipped with silver's north America neomax coil-overs. The contact stated that while driving through a parking garage at less than 10 mph, there was an abnormal popping sound coming from the vehicle after driving over a speed bump. The rear driver’s side of the vehicle lowered as the subframe detached from the vehicle. Due to the failure the vehicle remained stuck in the parking garage because the vehicle could not be towed out of the parking garage. The contact also stated that the vehicle could not be moved without causing further damage to it. The contact stated that the vehicle became an obstruction to the other motorist entering the parking garage. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and an agent attempted to assist the contact; however, the agent stated that any attempts to move the vehicle could be dangerous and cause more damage to the vehicle. The part was not yet replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

Earlier in the year I called gm about getting my navigation updated. I ask when the next update would made current. I was told it would probably be in may. I decided to wait until then and it would be more accurate. When I called, they told me that gm had decided not to furnish a new update. I then tried to order one for last year and they could not update that either. I was willing to pay for it. With all the changes in highway's, it is dangerous to try to use it. They sold me the navigation and then made it obsolete. They did bluetooth the radio but not the navigation. This is a safety hazard, and I feel the least they could do is charge me for the update and furnish it. It is still accurate except for new streets and there are a lot of changes. Help!.

The lcd which shows the rear view camera started flickering and now is completely black. I bought the vehicle in Dec. Of 2013 and only have less than 5000 miles on it. A little research on the internet has shown me that it is a chronic problem for this year of Corvette.

The stitching on the dash and the leather around the airbag is coming apart.

Rear differential assembly per gm's service bulletin 13384 "summary: the rear differential assembly in certain 2014 Chevrolet Corvettes were shipped with improper fluid levels. Operating the vehicle without sufficient fluid in the rear differential assembly could produce a loud whine and/or gear or bearing noise. " these vehicles were then topped off with fluid and some still had noises present requiring differential assemblies to be replaced however the issue persists. Dealers and the manufacter were telling customers the "warble" sound they hear is just due to engine noise/vibration and the cylinder deactivation. Now that vehicles are out of warranty the issue is that differentials internals are beyond repair and need replacing. Gm has choosen not to issue a standard recall, even the previously mentioned 2014 models were notified, handled at dealers, and put a stop sale on vehicles for the issue but they ended that program 11/30/2015. Vehicles that experience the issue will commonly have a warning indicator saying "service rear axle" or "rear axle system off" pop up indicating where the issue is. Common checks include fluid level, battery connection, controller/sensor plug connections and more. Vehicles that experience this issue can lose ability to control their vehicle at speed or have their drive axles lock up while moving causing injuries, fatalities, and more avoidable damages.

It looks like the bypass tube seal was/is leaking. Also on driver side tank the filler neck tube appears to have collapsed that would cause leak upon fill up. Gm has turned down initially the warranty request. We have submitted to our district manager for further review. You are welcome to stop by and look at car. On 12/07/2017 I purchased a 2014 chev. Corvettette c7 model (white) from jud kuhn Chevrolet 3740 hwy. 9 east, little river SC. On 01/02/2018 said Corvette was stationary when I noticed a substantial amount of differential oil leakage underneath the driver door and right rear tire area. I took a photo dated and notified dealership for service after snow storm cleared. In luie, mechanical preliminary review shown a differential oil leaks on right rear axel seal at the rear end and gas/fuel right side leaks at top of gas tank. Dealer told me differential was under warranty, however trying to get me to cover fuel leak cost. Under a federal mangous law, such issues are consider safety manufacture defects in having regards to fuel and rear end. Gm and Chevrolet are liable, likewise I contend the dealership should have not hide these damages from me during the sell. If the vehicle went through a certified inspection,some mechanic should have detected such problems. Car is still in shop , mechanic claims 14hrs job and will call me to see damages at fuel upon it being torn down for review. I have attached a photo of gas and oil leakages. I hereby request a preliminary investigation and enforce compliance on all parties to repair vehicle and recall such safety issues. My vehicle when turning slowly clicks and pops like the wheel is about to come off. The dealer said its a normal sound thats made when turning, I have reported this problem twice to my dealership. . .

The vehicle dic display goes blank periodicly. The anlalog gages work at all times. When the display is blank, and while driving, the analogs will go full scale and all warning lights will illuminate for a few seconds. Then the analog gages return to normal operation. While driving for a period of about 30 minutes or more, the display becomes operative, and all steering wheel commands function. The display and gages operate normaly for days. Then after sitting in the garage when I open the left door, days later, the display does not come on. And repeats the cycle. I have informed gm and have an open case. However, they have no immediate solution and I was told that there are no replacement instrument clusters available at this time. I was also told that there are a number of owners across the country that are experiencing similar issues with their dic's. A gm rep at the action center stated that all owners with this problem are waiting for replacement parts. They could give no expectation as to when the parts will be available. Gm knows there is a problem with the 2014 Corvette instrument clusters. . I am now on a list of owners waiting for the word on when the clusters will become available. My car is not even 3 yrs old and gm doesn't have the part to fix it anywhere in the gm system? mileage 813. 0 I thought the vehicle needed a software update. I brought it to the local chevy dealer and they told me they attempted to update the software 3 x and each time it failed. They stated that they did not know what the problem was and could not fix the problem. When they returned my car, all gages and displays were inoperative, including the infotainment system. I had an independant tech reprogram the system, and all returned to normal. However, the dic display is still intermittent. The display goes out only while it is sitting with power off. Does not go out when driving.

Extremely strong fuel odors that fill my garage and seep into my house. Im standing in the kitchen now next to the garage and can barely finish typing this before having to move to the living room I have taken the vehice to the chevy service department numerous times and they say they can't smell or find anything, so its obvious the problem is intermittent.

Purchased 2014 Corvette- stingray on 1/21/14. Rock hit windshield 2/20/14- chipped glass. Replaced glass via safelite. Safelite damaged support system behind the rear-view mirror which caused signals to reflect on dashboard: "service theft alarm" and "top-not secured". Car was at dealership for 8 days waiting for replacement parts to arrive. 2 days after car was released in working condition- another rock hits windshield & chips the passenger side of glass. Is there possibly a problem with the angle of the windshield? is there possibly a problem with the quality of the glass Chevrolet has installed in the new stingray? I have had rocks hit my windshield(s) over the years- I have owned over 20 cars- ( 13 previous Corvettes ) from what I recall- I have only had to have 1 windshield replaced prior to this new car. Usually - these rocks reflect off of the glass without any damage. If there is a problem with the design/angle and quality to the windshield this could potentially be a serious problem with the new stingray-corvette!.
