2015 Chevrolet Corvetter. Consumer writes in regards to stress cracks in windshield.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that he noticed a crack at the top of the front driver’s side windshield. The contact then stated that over time the crack expanded with several other cracks being formed on the passenger’s side of the windshield. The manufacture was notified of the issue and informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer suggested that the vehicle be taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving, he heard a crackling sound on the passenger’s side of the windshield while driving over bumps in the roadway. The manufacturer was notified a second time of the failure and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.
