I understand this vehicle is over 10 years old. I bought this vehicle pre-owned and have only had it for less than 6 months. This vehicle has 71,000 miles on it and isn't very good condition cosmetically besides the gloss paint. As a widow, I needed a dependable vehicle for work purposes. Since I've had this vehicle I've had to replace the thermostat, I've had continued overheating issues, issues with the catalytic converters, the hoses and connectors becoming brittle and needing replacement throughout the engine. Suddenly the traction control light came on the dash after they check engine light. With the code reader showed problems with the mass air flow and the mass air flow electric wiring. Suddenly after a oil change, the vehicle is running terribly and is undrivable. The ecm or computer that powers the entire vehicle has lost all power was no explanation. All the pieces and relays are in good working order. After research on this issue of the ecm I've learned that even replacement of the computer for this vehicle causes the vehicle not even to start. I contacted customer service for gm and Chevrolet and they referred me to you because it is over 10 years old. No one was able to help me. My roommate has the exact same vehicle besides I have a turbo and she does not same year, and she is also having the exact same problems including her ecm is not getting any power. I'm sure of that there's nothing anyone can do financially but Chevrolet and gm really dropped the ball on this vehicle as far as dependability and safety. I counted on this vehicle to be dependable and and live up to the standards of gmn Chevrolet and it has not. Besides this website I don't know who could called Chevrolet and gm accountable for this disaster of a car. I would appreciate any suggestions to try to get this vehicle safe and in working order if it is even possible. I appreciate your time and consideration and I am available if anyone needs to contact me with any questions thank you.
On [xxx], I purchased a used car from marietta auto sales(2015 chevy Cruze), through sales agent alexis wiley, I test drove the car and everything seemed fine, so I continued with the purchase, later that same day I had a diagnostic done on the car(autozone),the fix finder read check engine(pass),abs(pass),emissions ready(no),service interval(pass), I attempted to contact agent alexis wiley immediately, to no avail as it was later in the day, the very next day after the purchase the check engine light came on, I was able to get in touch agent alexis wiley that day and she assured me she would help me address the matter, she did not, there were a mixture phone calls and text between her and I, I made several calls and left several messages and was told someone would get back to me, they never did. On 11-23-2024 I drove to the establishment to show them the many diagnostic reports showing that the car they sold me was defective, additionally I performed an on the spot diagnostics with my (innova sd35 scan tool), also in front of service manager (paul),he would not reveal his sir name to me, I showed how the diagnostic revealed that for some reason the, fuel system monitor, oxygen sensor monitor, as well as the oxygen sensor heater monitors, have all been disabled, to know avail, the establishment continued defend the sell of this defective vehicle. I've spent thousands of dollars attempting to repair the vehicle to no avail. As I traded my vehicle to this same establishment at the time of the sale, I am forced to commute in a vehicle that has cut off no less than three times while waiting at a red light, each time I put fuel in the vehicle it struggles to start back up. I've filed complaints against this establishment with the,(bbb),(capitol one auto finance),all to no avail, and most recently with the (cfpb-),which is currently open. This establishment withheld things about this vehicle that should have been made known to me as a consumer. My safety is at risk. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of in.
Leaking coolant underneath the vehicle.
Coolant leaking on drivers side of engine.
I was driving down the hill and my car came out of gear the road was slick so I couldn't hit my breaks I had to crash into the ditch to keep from going over the mountain. My airbags did not come out my car is not drivable.
Antifreeze leaking.
Reduced engine power & service stabilitrek. Service engine light came on, and I had reduced power on the highway in the fast/passing lane with people behind me, this issue caused my car to suddenly slow down about 30mph, causing cars behind me to slam on their brakes and cut in front of other cars to the slow lane to avoid rear ending me.
On many occasions the car would be at a stop and start shaking violently, then it would stall out no matter where I was. The engine light came on so I went to see what it was, at first I thought it was the air filter, changed that, then it was the mass airflow sensor changed that then it started doing it again, then it was the O2 sensor and it worked for a day or 2. Now if the ac is on it shakes violently again and if I am at a stop it still will stall out.
Check engine light came on with radiator emblem showing with message engine hot ac off. Towed to orr Chevrolet, said it was water outlet bad. Paid $460. 00 to repair. I think 2015 Cruze should b covered under January 2015 special coverage, since water outlet falls under engine coolant leak pertaining to water pump special coverage.
My car has been shaking, low idle, when at a stop light I have to put it in neutral and push gas pedal to keep it from staling. When light turns green it won't go even though I am pushing the gas pedal. I'm to scared to drive it anymore. I have had to get it fixed too many times to count.
Purchased this vehicle in 2017. Since then, I have had nothing but problems with it. I have needed to replace the radiator, fan, coolant system, and turbo. Now, there is an oil leak in the engine. This car is truly a lemon. I purchased the chevy Cruze based on its reputation. I am beyond disappointed and will not be purchasing a chevy vehicle in the future.
Turbo charger.
Had to replace the catalytic converter and my engine light came back on and it's showing that that is still an issue. A mechanic told me this has been a common issue with other chevy Cruze.
The car shakes and turns off while driving the transmission stalls when you drive the power steering locks and when you brake the car shakes like crazy and the rpm is down to 2-3 I was with my new born baby while the car shut off in the middle of an interstate and we almost got hit by a semi and the dealership refused our buisness.
My driver's side window has been serviced twice for being stuck. Either it won't roll back up or it won't roll down. I have my car serviced by a chevy dealer. The window is currently stuck all the way down. This would be the third time that thos has occured. It is only affecting my driver window. All other windows open and close without and issues.
The car overheats whenever the air is turned on. Replaced thermostat and had the radiator replaced. No resolution.
Driving to work car overheated all antifreeze was gone. Got a new hose put on still smelling antifreeze then pcv went out why haven't they did a recall on this dangerous car. Trraveling nover bridge car started slowing down wouldn't pick up speed. Each time stop it didn't want to go sputterin found out pcv is bad went to look up everyone is having the same problem and theres no recall why.
Terrible smell making it impossible to drive my vehicle. When I drive the vehicle my eyes water. There is no heat or air on but hot air is coming into the cab. There is a really bad smell in the cab after a dealership already replaced the catalytic converter less than four months ago. There have been extensive problems with this vehicle time and time again like stalling on the freeway with no warning signs, belts repairs, exhaust problems, etc. I have not even owned this vehicle for three years,.
I bought the car used. After a few days I heard a ticking under the hood & also when I got to 60 mph I could feel vibration in the gas pedal & sounded like a bumble bee under the hood. I took it to dealership I bought it from. They said that with the lt1 it offs common noise for the purge solenoid to make the ticking noise that it was normal. The vibration they said was a pebble got under motor mount & was causing vibration. He got the pebble out & readjusted. A week later was doing it again & the ticking noise was alot worse. He finally changed the purge solenoid & it still ticked but not nearly as bad. But he said he couldn't hear the noise at 60 mph & only a little of the vibration in pedal. I'm really regretting buying this car. If I knew it would have all these issues I could of kept driving my older car with no car payment. He said that Chevrolet knew about the purge solenoid issue but haven't fixed it. Car had 87k miles when I bought it & now has 90k. After we bought 1 of the salesmen referred to it as a throw away car. Yeah I just threw away 11k getting it.
Internal squeaking sound when idling or when accelerating. Mechanic couldnt solve to recommended going to dealership. They diagnosed as faulty ignition coil and loose spark plug. I later found out there is a service bulletin as this is a know issue on chevys https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2014/sb-10090461-2280. Pdf.
The screen goes black sometimes. The car shuts off by it self. It gives different warnings one was electric stability control and the other was check power steering. It has happened while driving and stationary. It has happened to me more than once and on the road and in a parking lot. I brought it to where I purchased it and they thought they fixed it but it happened again today.
When starting my vehicle this morning my check engine light was on and my car was sputtering whenot sitting at a light or idling. Went to repair shop for duagnosis. Came up with several codes. P0171- system 2 lean bank 1. Second code p0106 manifold absolute oressure/barometer sensor, p0131 02 circuit low voltage be s1. P1101 intake air flow system performance low. Tcs on. I need to know if this covered by the vehicle warranty.
While driving on the highway, I heard a loud pop, and the sunroof glass shattered. We had not gone under any overpass nor were we behind any vehicle dropping loose debris. TSB no. 15224.
Leaking coolant: there are multiple posts online with this issue yet Chevrolet is not taking responsibility. My car, and many more are leaking coolant daily. Has anyone looked into this, or is this being investigated? we should not have to pay for a defect they produced!.
The water pump is leaking in the exact same area as stated in the recall for the 2011-2014 Cruze. The ac off error message appeared and everything is exactly the same as the recall. Not sure that the recall covered every vehicle that this is happening to. A closer look needs to be taken at the vehicles.
One windshield wiper stopped working. The next day they both have stopped. They will not move at all.
My car is overheating there seems to be some kind of leak.
Purge valve on a 2015 chevy Cruze 1. 4 ecotec turbo with 65,000 miles. Started as a small little ticking noise then its been getting louder. At the time I did not know what was wrong with it, had it looked it by mechanics but the car was not throwing any codes. Told it could have been a lifter. . . But then the ticking noise just got louder and my car started using more fuel and wasn't running right. My car has tried shutting down (dying) in an intersection, sitting at a stop light also. When driving on the highway and or even city streets feels like the car is cutting in and out. Rpm's are not steady, will bounce from 700 rpm to 400 rpm while sitting still. Rough idle also. The sound continued to get worse now sounds like a marble bouncing around in the valve. Now that I have figured out that it is the purge valve I am buying the purge valve to get it fixed. From the research that I have done this part could have caused an accident due to the car stalling out and or dying on the highway or in a intersection. Pretty sure that what is left of my warranty does not cover this part, I wouldn't think that a car that is only 2 years old and only 65,000 miles on it would have this kind of an issue and this kind of an issue that would not throw a code like a service engine soon light or something. Like I said my car hasn't thrown any codes so it wasn't really the easiest trying to figure out the problem so it could get repaired.
I was having issues with interior fogging of my window and noticed water drips on the inside of my windshield during dry weather and took it to the dealer. Although they could not find a leak they replaced the seal. That lasted a while (spring and summer) then it returned again and I getting the same issues. I will be driving and the inside of the windows fog then freeze. This is when the interior of the car is warm.
I hade my right turn signal reflector came off. Witch is setting in the head light witch could damage the head light and could effect the ability to see if the head light gets damage.
The car turn off on it self when im driving, it all ready happen 5 times on a row, I took the vehicle to mission Chevrolet at el paso TX, where I buy the car at but the guys from service can't find what its wrong with the car, I already talk with the supervisor from service department and a guy from gm so we can take it to the next level. I already took the car to get fix 8 times and they can't find the problem.
Other vehicle was trying to run others off the road and cut people off.
I have a diesel Cruze 2015 the problem is the car does not tell me if I am in regen for the dpf. The reason that is a problem is that if the regen fails 3 times I have to go to the dealer for 320. 00 out of pocket expense. The car does not give me any indication I have to keep driving to regen the dpf it just fails within seconds of the dic message and goes into power reduced mode. The car never tells me to go regen the dpf it just fails within seconds of a dash message power reduce and have to go to the dealer. I have spoken to several other owners that say the same thing. It would seem the gm is purposely letting the regen of the dpf fail so we have to go to the dealer, which is basically pirating our pocket books. We need a fix badly please!!.
The cabin fiber is bad on my vehicle in the glove box filter on my 2015 chevy Cruze.
Car roll bak when in slow traffic, roll back on small inclination; stalls frequently in traffic.
