Seat Belt problem #1

The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the windshield wiper compartment inadvertently opened. There was a failure with the seat belts. The contact stated that the driver’s side seat belt was excessively loose, and the front passenger’s side seat belt was overly tight. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt assemblies had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 66,550.

Seat Belt problem #2

My head lights stopped working except the day time running lights. The high beams don’t work nor the actual head lights. They just went out.

Seat Belt problem #3

Service safety restraint system. Airbags are potentially at risk to not deploy if a wreck was to occur. This failure has caused the airbags to be shut off despite anyone sitting in the seats that is supposed to activate them on when weight is applied to the seat. Has not been inspected but I would like for it to be inspected on behalf of the chevy dealership at their cost.

Seat Belt problem #4

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while buckling on the driver's side seat belt, the flexible steel cable snapped. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

Seat Belt problem #5

I am leasing this vehicle and it continues to have warning light on staring the vehicle engine power reduced as I'm driving and holds back vehicle and also airbag restraining system light continues also to be on. This is not normal wear and tear and I read previous years had this issue as well. This is still an issue concerning of my safety. Paying for inconvenience.

Seat Belt problem #6

I was involved in an accident at 70mph and the airbags did not deploy and the seat belts did not catch as a result I had to several injuries and luckily my 3 year old daughters car seat protected her.

Seat Belt problem #7

Loss of steering cause to side collision into bridge at 70mph no air bags deployed and no seat belts locked cause bodily injuries.

Seat Belt problem #8

Back seat belt came complete undone from the sewn portion of the lock. Very little pull force released the locked belt. Buckle stayed in tact/locked, but the sewn part seems to have been glued, and not sewn securely. Serious danger to backseat passengers.

Seat Belt problem #9

Both side airbags deployed without crash or damage to the vehicle. Passenger and driver seatbelts locked. Front airbags did not deploy.

Seat Belt problem #10

The driver side seat belt did not lock in time like it was supposed to when I got rear ended today, causing my head the hit the steering wheel very very hard. I wouldn't have hit the steering wheel if my seat belt would have locked in place like its supposed to. It has not been confirmed or reproduced by a service center. The car is now being inspected by the police, and the insurance representatives. No warning lamps were on, and there wasn't any kind of messages or any other symptoms prior to the failure.

Seat Belt problem #11

The car was a total loss due to a mva which involved this car only. The car hydroplaned, it spun and the traction control light was blinking. The front of the car hit the guardrail, spun, and then the back end hit the guardrail. At this point, all the dash lights were blinking and the car dead in the road. The flashers were turned on but due to the car dead, there were no flashers on and the car was stuck in the fast lane of a three lane highway in the dark and pouring rain. The air bags never deployed nor did the seatbelt tighten up. Components that failed: flashers, airbags, seatbelts, etc. Safety: could not alert other drivers that the car was in the road and was almost struck by a tractor trailer and other cars. Problem was reported to the insurance company who claimed it as a total loss. The police were called to the scene of the accident so there is a police report. The traction control warning light lit when the car hydroplaned. All the lights on the dash started flashing when it hit the guardrail, then after that, unsure when the car died and no power. The tow truck driver could not turn the steering wheel when he tried to pull it up the flat bed.

Seat Belt problem #12

Air bags did not deploy in a serious wreck, also with the seat belts not properly securing. First week I bought it. It shut off on the interstate because it was overheating. Ac compressor was broke so it got replace. The fan motor does not spin right. When my air/heater is on my engine make a loud noise (since the day I bought it). Cooling system has been replaced 4 times. Overall terrible car and everything needs to be recalled on it. Not safe to drive.

Seat Belt problem #13

In December 2020 my vehicle was involved in an accident where I hit a curb which cracked my rim and deployed airbags. My airbag light is on I'm passenger seat belt is stuck due to airbag.

Seat Belt problem #14

The rear seat belt buckle, passenger side, latches but comes undone if pulled on.

Seat Belt problem #15

In September, my daughters 4 side airbags blew out while driving. She wasn't in any collision or accident, they just blew out and the piece that blew out on her side, hit her in the head too. In may, less than a week after we got the car, she was going up around a curve, someone came around that curve on her side, hitting her driver side mirror, cracking, and breaking the glass. She was ran off the road by the other driver, and she did go over rocks, scratching the bottom of the car, we put it on a lift and there wasn't any damage, just scratched. After her airbags deployed, I was told to contact general motors right away, so I did. I told them what happened, and made sure I told them what happened in may,the lady that took the claim, said that's fine, she will make sure all that was notated! now, from the time I called gm, it took them a week to contact me, which is unacceptable. I even called back in a couple days demanding someone contact me right away. I was told it was a mechanical issue, and it needs to be dealt with. I was told by a gm dealership, that it is very obvious it was mechanical, faulty airbags. It took almost 3 weeks from the time I called gm for them to get it to a dealership and get their investigator out to look at it. She can't drive the car, the seatbelts don't work and airbags deployed,so I refuse to let her drive it. So from the time the investigator came out and looked at it, recorded his findings, it was another 2 weeks. My daughter called the lady at gm and the investigator that contacted her to get info. I sent an email asking why it's taking so long too. Finally, gm called me, saying the decisions are final and they found no merit that it was a mechanical issue, and they won't be doing anything to help. She also told me nothing like that has ever happened before. I want them to take responsibility! they are using what happened in may!.

Seat Belt problem #16

Hubby was rear ended by a car going 45+ miles an hour, the drivers side seat belt did not lock it is now locked in a fully extended position. After impact, he said there was smoke in the car from what looked like the airbag should have inflated, but did not. He was almost stopped for a red light and hit from behind. The seat belt should have locked tight and it did not.

Seat Belt problem #17

Passenger front side seat belt wont latch.

Seat Belt problem #18

I got in the car put my seat belt on left my house to go to the grocery store and I heard a ding sound like I had not clicked my seat belt in. I thought this is odd I tried to unlock it by pushing on the button but it would not pop out I had a toenail clipper in my purse and when I got to the grocery I had to wiggle it around to free myself of the seat belt due to it being stuck it finally popped out now I can not wear my belt because it will not go back in . I have never had any problems nor been in any accidents so I'm confused as to what is wrong with it. I was on a city street sitting at a red light when the sensor for the seat belt went off.

Seat Belt problem #19

My drivers side seat belt light would blink occasionally as I was driving thinking my seat belt was not latching however, it was and I cleaned it as best as I could. Still would come on, blinks, turns off, comes on and the sound will even sound to put my seat belt on. All this while the car is in motion, whether I'm driving slowly out of my driveway or down the interstate.

Seat Belt problem #20

Cruze control fails to remain set and turns off on it's own resulting in reduction of speed when traveling. Rear seat belt buckles become non-functional and won't fasten, posing a safety hazard and making the rear seats unusable for passengers.

Seat Belt problem #21

My back seat middle seat belt is locked into place and is not useable. I was stationary trying to buckle in my boyfriend's daughter and could not get the seat belt to unlock.

Seat Belt problem #22

The dash show air bag.

Seat Belt problem #23

This vehicle (chevy Cruze 2012) is the worst vehicle made possible. There is oil leaks that have been fixed that occur again . There is a coolant leak that was fixed by the radiator connector. 15 minutes later of driving the vehicle 2 more hoses popped and caused the coolant to leak again. The radiator went bad and was changed the vehicle still over heated . The thermostat was changed and the vehicle was fine for 2 days. I go to start the vehicle and it doesn't want to turn over . Come to find out at the same mechanic that I had the thermostat changed apparently said the head gasket was blown . Then says there's something wrong with the cylinder heads . So all in all . This vehicle has had oil leaks , coolant leaks , engine lights , radiator issues , cylinderr head problems , misfiring and now a head gasket problem . This brings a safety issue to me that while I am driving my car is misfiring on me in the middle of the road while there is traffic going on and tons of people on the road . I could potentially be driving this vehicle and because of all of this electrical issues that gm is not capable of manufacturing correctly on these vehicles (chevy Cruze) my car could of blew up while driving it. I have my nieces and nephews in the car while the car shakes out of nowhere which could of put there life in danger . Chevy is no help what so ever they only want to charge to even look at a car they manufactured!!!! I ask for help from them and they seem so carefree . My life is in danger and no one cares!! someone will die by gm hands if this issue cannot be correctly fixed on these vehicles . You guys are selling cars that can kill someone and once you guys are notified of this no one cares . Once there is a lawsuit under your company then maybe you guys will take this serious .

Seat Belt problem #24

My seat belt on the driver side will not latch. I can't hook my seat belt and if I get in a accident then I will get hurt. I need this to be taking care of as soon as possible.

Seat Belt problem #25

Unable to latch seatbelt drivers side for the mechanism the charge is 200. 00 what a rip off thought it should be covered do to safety. If I am in a wreck and my seatbelt doesn't latch how safe am I. No accidents just quit working.

Seat Belt problem #26

Seat belt will not engage with receptacle. The receptacle part of seat belt is not working . Both the passenger and driver belts are defective.

Seat Belt problem #27

I was stopped in highway traffic and rear-ended (I've attached the crash report from the in state police). My seat belt did not engage and my airbag did not deploy causing me to hit my head on the steering wheel resulting in abrasions and two black eyes. This seems to be either a serious design problem or a manufacturer defect. Regardless, the sensors that cause the seat belt to lock should not be in the front of the car as they then provide no protection from a rear end collision.

Seat Belt problem #28

My car is overheating there seems to be some kind of leak.

Seat Belt problem #29

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. While driving approximately 20 mph and depressing the brake pedal approaching a stop sign, the vehicle failed to stop. As a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle that was traveling eastbound. The vehicle was launched over the median westbound lane and landed in a ditch. The seat belt failed to retract and caused the contact to sustain head injuries and bruises. Medical attention was not required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was pushed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

Seat Belt problem #30

The "service airbag" alert comes up every time the vehicle is turned on. My mechanic told me that this may have been due to a faulty seat belt. This car has never been in a collision, is clean title, and otherwise is in good working conditions. The estimate for this repair was $950 parts and labor.

Seat Belt problem #31

Drove to my aunts house and unbuckled my seat belt. Went inside for a brief second while car was running. Got back into my car and tried to put my seat belt on and it would not latch. Tried various times. When I returned home I tried it again and it latched.

Seat Belt problem #32

Vehicle accident with another vehicle - airbag did not deploy in accident. Driver hit head on steering wheel. (all airbags deployed on other vehicle (Audi s4. )) told by insurance adjustor he typically does not see airbag deployment on chevy cruize as the sensors are high on the internal frame.

Seat Belt problem #33

Takata recall - my car was involved in an accident, in motion, on a city street. My air bag did not deploy. My seat belt did not hold me. I took a hit to the head, having to have stiches, along with both eyes turning black/blue.

Seat Belt problem #34

A seatbelt got wrapped around my 2 year olds neck and would not loosen and we had to cut the seatbelt because it was choking her. . . It happened when I was driving down the road and luckily my aunts house was close and I was able to run in the house and get scissors to cut it off her.

Seat Belt problem #35

Daughter was involved in an accident on highway. Vehicle in front of her used no turn signal or brakes. Daughter ran into the back. Damage to Cruze was minimal but airbag did not deflate. Only message center stating that airbag needs to be services as soon as possible. Airbag warning. Driver seat belt also jammed and will not unhook after accident.

Seat Belt problem #36

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while the vehicle was stationary the second vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle causing the front end to crash into the rear of a third vehicle. Next, a fourth vehicle made contact with the vehicle causing the front end to crash into the vehicle a second time. During the incident the seat belts malfunctioned and did not secure the occupants and the air bags did not deploy although the vehicle sustained significant damage to the front end and was destroyed. The contact indicated that during the incident the check air bag warning sensor illuminated and a strange odor was present inside the vehicle. The driver sustained a concussion, head, neck and upper torso injuries. The passenger suffered a concussion, head neck and back injuries. A police report was taken at the scene. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 40,000. Jft.

Seat Belt problem #37

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet cruz. The contact stated that the passenger side rear seat belt buckle housing fractured. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the mechanic diagnosed that the vehicle was out of warranty, and it could not be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure was 34,000. Rk.

Seat Belt problem #38

When installing a child booster seat in the rear seat of our 2011 chevy Cruze the booster seat completely covers the safety belt latch making it impossible to latch the belt. This applies to both the right and left sides of the car. When I contacted the dealer they stated that this was a known problem with no alternative to correct the issue. The only way to latch the safety belt is to fasten it into the incorrect latch. This in my opinion creates a major safety issue.

Seat Belt problem #39

I was involved in a collision on may 5, 2012 in which I collided into the side of another vehicle with the front end of my car. My car is brand new, less than a month old however, the seat belts did not hold and the air bags did not deploy during the crash. I was traveling at approximately 30-35 mph at the time of the crash. The collision was bad enough that my car was no longer drivable after the collision. I just bought this car which is a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze and am now afraid to keep it not knowing why the safety equipment didn't work. Also, I had activated my "on star" service but that didn't work either. I would like for someone to inspect my car before the repairs are started. Please let me know where to go from here.

Seat Belt problem #40

I just noticed that almost all of the 2011 Chevrolet vehicles and some Dodge( those are the ones that I have seen so far) has the same type of seat belts and for me they look kind of weak/ unsafe compare to the ones that I have seen in the past. I'm a child passenger technician and when I was installing some car seats in some chevy's vehicles I noticed that two of the seat belts almost got perforated by the car seat plastic shell, I noticed that they're not as heavy duty as the ones that I have in my 2000 chevy van. I'm kind of concerned about this. Probably is not that bad but I think it will be good to check this out as well as the buckle, because in one 2011 cruise wasn't working. Thank you for your great job!.
