There is a leak that is causing the coolant reservoir tank to empty every couple of days. It appears that the coolant fumes are going inside the car. It has been taken to the repair shop on several occasions and has had the coolant reservoir replaced. However, the problems persists and the coolant fumes are making me ill from inhaling them. The car was taking in to a Chevrolet dealer December 2023 for an oil change and the service technician stated my car was “fine”. I asked about any possible leaks as I have observed spots in my parking spot. He assured me there were no problems with my car, but I persisted. He printed the service log and he determined the staff who completed the oil change had in fact noticed a leak, but the guy at the desk assured me there was not a problem. A few weeks have gone by and coolant continues to leak and the fumes are getting inside the cabin of the car. They are most noticeable when use the heater or the ac and the fumes can also be observed when I exit the car.

Car overheat, the electric fan assembly wires melted and was burning, the fan ceased to work, no warning was given. The vehicle was in motion on city/township streets. The heater core is leaking, so after replacing all other components and a pressurized test, that is the problem. The vehicle is stationary for leak to be seen.

I was driving to work on the freeway and noticed the car was swaying and wobbling . . . I had got 4 brand new tires about a month and a half ago so I didn't think it was that. The next day, same thing driving to work but this time in addition to swaying, it was jerking and loosing power or punch at times when pressing on the accelerator. The following day, same thing again, this time there was a warning light check stability trak, something like that. I also noticed the check engine light on. It also began jerking even more and when I parked it, the fan was very loud and running even though the car was not overheated. When driving home and stopping at lights, my car jerked more and only stopped temporarily whe n in parked or if I pressed on the gas. I am concerned the recalls for my car was never addressed, even though it is "saying" no recalls for my VIN. What should I do? I am not sure I should drive it far based on what others have said happened to them when driving on the freeway or loosing control thru an intersection.
Heat wont work in cold weather. Looked up and seen tons of the same year and make with a recall for heat block. Also front end axel sounds like it wants to snap. I contacted chevy they were no help. Its our only car right now and we have a child. Not safe as far as im concerned.
Driving and when I hit a bum the car started to go slowly.
Almost 6 months to the day of purchase, I was planning a trip that required 3. 5 hours of highway driving. The day before my trip, I had an unfamiliar alert, so I took it to autonation under warranty. They found the car had been in a major accident where the front end had been "straightened" and advised me not to risk driving it on the trip. A major accident where the front end had to be straightened was not disclosed to me. Autonation told me to go to offleaseonly, because the warranty was voided by repairs not being done by a chevy dealership. Autonation showed me, while on the lift, the evidence. I contacted offlease and they did not even look at my vehicle and told me that they could not help me. I sent photos and they said they could not help and said I should contact chevy corporate offices and fight for the warranty. I returned to autonation and paid a diagnostic fee of $175. 73 and got specifics on costs which I shared with offlease--$2500 for mechanical repairs and structural repairs would start at $1500 with no guarantee the front end would be as safe and that correcting the shoddy work on the frame could degrade its structure and stability. Autonation said that they are notorious for selling cars like this. Offlease representatives declined to work with me. I provided with the recommendation by autonation that offlease should claim a loss through their insurance and replace my car. Offlease declined and referred me to pepboys for repair, but when asked the estimated cost, they never responded. I only drive in town. I have had to rent/borrow a car for travel to extended distances to avoid the fear. Offlease claims to inspect vehicles well & care about their customers; but they have shown no interest in my safety.
Just bought the vehicle and was driving and kept hearing a clunking noise in the front end and noticed the from rotors was indicating replacement so took backto dealer and they also found that the front stabilizer link on drivers side was snapped in half causing outer tie rod needing replacement and could of caused a crash as you would lose control of vehicle once outer tir rod disconnected.
Vehicle began with squeaking noise as I drove home and when having it checked out, I was told I needed new struts and the tires had worn out due to struts. The vehicle is a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze lt with good driving and 37,000-40,000 highway miles. Never had struts wear out on a vehicle this early.
Intermittent service traction control and stabilitrak while at a stop when attempting to drive after the service light came on the vehicle lacked power and high temp fan turn on. The only way to get the car out of the service lock was to turn the ignition off and turn it back on. I took the car to a dealer where they were unable to duplicate the issue. This issue has been covered under a recall on other chevy vehicles such as the equinox.
I was stopped at a stop sign getting ready to cross over hwy to go north bound. A truck came out of nowhere and hit my driver side front end. My air bags didnt deploy. I googled it and saw there is a recall on my vehicle for air bag. I just bought the car 2 weeks ago. Shouldnt the dealer be responsible for fixing recalls before selling the car even it is used.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. While driving approximately 20 mph, the front passenger side of the vehicle collapsed towards the ground. The vehicle stalled without warning and then rolled into an unoccupied parked vehicle. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the front passenger side axle fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.
I found a white metallic gunk on driveway. I went to investigate for leakage, after dealer had one week ahead appointment available. I found rust on the welds of the muffler, rust on the hanger rods for the muffler, rust on nuts and bolts throughout the under carriage, rust on metal parts of the drive shaft, rust on the back tire trims, rust on the engine block, rust on the suspension, rust on the shocks, and the list goes on, on the many more parts of the under carriage. Not just rust but corrosive rusting, that just didn't start over the last three weeks. Dealer had to fail to put car up on rack upon receiving from Chevrolet, and failed before handing it. This type of rusting happens only after maybe three years or more at least according to people I've shown the photos to, who know cars. Dealership has a gm expert coming in to expect the car. Feel very unsafe driving this car.
I recently purchased a brand new 2014 chevy Cruze. On the way to work four days after purchasing it, I was side swiped by another vehicle at 55 mph. My vehicle was put into a spin, I hit a curb and snapped the passenger side sub frame, spun out, and my vehicle went up into flames. It was engulfed within 20 seconds of the accident. I had to kick the driver door our because it wouldn't open. I was lucky enough to get out of the car before being burned. There were no deaths, I was the only occupant of the vehicl and I was able to exit the vehicle with a moderate concussion, and multiple bruises. Had there been anyone else in the car, the outcome would've been different. The vehicle had 200 miles on it at the time of the accident. I don't recommend buying a chevy, they are not safe vehicles. Gm will not return my phone calls or do anything to correct this issue.
I am a very frustrated mother with this vehicle purchase. I purchased a Chevrolet Cruze for my son as a gift for his high school graduation February 2, 2014. A month later there was a stop on sales because of the dangerous recall for the front axle right half that can break. The car has been sitting in the dealer for 2 months and I am making payments on a vehicle that we cannot even use. I know it is not the dealers fault , it is the GMC manufacturing company. I know someone needs to be held accountable for this. This is a disgrace to our country. How can one of the biggest car companies in the united states be so irresponsible? after all the bailout money that was giving to them out of our tax dollars. I do not even feel safe for my son to drive that car any more even if they replace the parts. I would probably need to get a second or third opinion. What am I my supposed to do trade in the car for what? for another vehicle that has more recalls. It looks like all of the GMC vehicles have recalls. We purchased the Cruze because it was economical on gas and look I have a frustrated teen that is starting college in less that a month and cannot drive his brand new car. I keep getting messages about other recalls, the recent one was the defective air bags. Please tell me what I can do to feel better. I called GMC asked to talk to a supervisor and waited and waited and they wasted my time because no one wants to hear a mother complaining about her child's safety. If everyone would do their job correctly, no one would be having these problems. I really hope someone is held accountable for all of this. How can they replace the parts with used parts? I really hope that all of us being affected by these get some incentive to keep our cars and to help us to ease our frustration. I am really concerned about my son's safety. Help!!! thanks so much for your time.
2 manufacturer recalls; first for the right front axle not being safe, second for a faulty air bag system. My car was held for the recall for 86 days.
Classic Chevrolet in granbury TX sold me a 2014 chevy cruz that had a broken axle and was a outstanding recall. I tried to return car for this reason but they would not take it. The car then sat at the dealership for approximately 2 months waiting for parts and I once again tried to turn car in.
Bought vehicle from carmax first week of March 2014, 3 weeks later was first time I drove in snow and the the brakes did not work at all. Called carmax and though the warranty was was over they agreed to repait because of a brake recall. Then a couple weeks later there was a leak and Ford had to replace a coolant pump. The car never ran the same. The car putters and has horrible acceleration and I have contacted Ford and carmax dealership and coorp for help at the same time all the Cruzes were taken off the lots and were no longer allowed to be sold because of all the recalls and they were deemed unsafe to drive. All I asked carmax for was to take this vehicle back and let me pick out a different car. I am a single mom with a teenage daughter an I am afraid to let her drive this car, there have been several deaths attributed to the chevy Cruzes. I have left several voicemails with gm my case # is c7269752 with first responder. . What does that mean anyway? the gm at carmax in tinley park argued with me for 15 minutes about who if I spoke to him once or twice instead of dealing with the real issue, the sold me, a single mother a car with bad brakes! I almost went into down into a 6 lane expressway when the brakes didnt work! I would have been killed. Its been a couple months now and no one has followed up at all. The snow will soon begin and I am scared to death to drive. Please can some one help.
My sisiter and I rental a car it stop on the interstate,we was stuck from 830pm until 530am,no help from budget.
There is knocking noise in the rear of the vehicle. A letter from chevy states that they know there is a problem but they don't know how to fix it. #pic5726 the car has been in the shop 4 times for this starting at about 16,000 miles. I have only had the car for 1. 5 months. Taking the car back to shop on 1/17/2013 for the heater and a grinding noise when pushing the gas pedal down.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that the seal that held the drive axle in the transmission was faulty, causing transmission fluid to leak. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated they would have to replace the seal that held the drive axle but they did not have the parts available. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 342.
I took my vehicle in complaining of a strange noise, almost like a "pop" when braking. When the dealership looked at it they told me it was the struts. They stated they were waiting on a recall from Chevrolet and that I should just continue to keep calling and checking on it. I called them each month since. Each time they assured me it would not affect my vehicle at all and that it would be fine. Obviously, a strut is a part of the car, it must be needed to function or it would not be on there. I have no idea how this is affecting my vehicle including my tire wear, brakes, and overall structure of the vehicle. There has still been no recall issued and the problem still exists.
