Stopped at a red light. The drivers seat failed to stay upright with a 40 mph collision from behind. The stationary vehicle, the one with the seat that failed, is a 2005 chevy Equinox. The vehicle that rear-ended the Equinox was a 1999 Ford explorer.
During a recent crash that I was in, when my air bag deployed I was pushed back into the seat. The seat came unlatched and plunged into the back seat where I had my daughter in her car seat. It was my understanding by both the insurance company and the dealer that this is to never happen.
The consumer stated his wife drove about 15 miles, and complained about the front head rest being tilted so far forward that the seat had to be leaned far back just to be comfortable. Caused pain in the neck and shoulders. Worried that the defect could cause neck injury. Contact went out and bought a head rest for a Saturn vehicle and installed it into his 2005 Chevrolet Equinox.
