2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2016

I was on an interstate highway. The auto in front of me changed lanes and I accelerated to go past the auto. The accelerator stuck to the floorboard and would not release even after repeated attempts to try and get it to respond. I was able to shift into neutral while the engine was still at full acceleration. I was able to change lanes and glided to a stop in the emergency lane. Where I was able to get the accelerator to disengage. I was very lucky the traffic pattern allowed me to take evasive action to avoid a collision. The accelerator is an electrical system.

I tried starting car several times and would not start. Pumped the gas pedal while trying to start and finally started. This has been an issue for several months now. Had the fuel filter changed and still have the same problem. I have read several forums where there is a recall on my vehicle concerning this matter.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2014

Vehicle was hit on the driver's side at the front door. Vehicle went right after impact at full throttle into a 12 ft ditch. Turned 90 degrees out of the ditch, came out of the ditch, across a 4 lane road. Front left wheel caught on a curb, vehicle still a full throttle with driver trying to brake. Veered to the left, jumped a 2 ft ditch, went to the right, hit a 3 ft rock, knocked the rock into the ditch and car ended up on top of the rock. Air bags did not deploy at this this. Vehicle travelled approximately 953 ft at full throttle before hitting the rock. Gm had replaced the ignition switch once under policy vehicle would not come out of gear when parked sometimes. Even after replacing ignition switch we continued to have problems removing key from ignition. Nationwide insurance has possession of the car and is paying an outside vendor to down load the data from this accident. Gm was called an we got one phone call back about this accident a week ago. Do have pictures and video from the accident scene. Also have a diagram of the distances the car traveled while changing directions after being hit. Best time to call is between 10am and 1pm as I drive a school bus and can not talk. Or after 6pm to 9pm.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2014

My 2005 Equinox, I have only 80k miles on it,- key will not start ignition normal. Gets stuck and have to shake key forward for about 20+ minutes before it finally turns on. And when the car is on and running at any speed, the key will just come out of ignition. Map lights leak water when it rains. Car smells like mold. Fuel gage always says empty and I get less than 16 mpg. Got in a car accident Apr 2014, seat belt did not lock when I was rear-ended, my face almost hit the radio (intial reason for my call to gm-chevy line posted on their website today, looking for an answer as to why my ignition won't work properly and found out about faulty ignitions on my car) gm stated, after giving them my VIN that my car is not included in the recall!!! what's really going on??!! after being accused of "blaming gm for my car problems", I asked for a supervisor and was hung up on. No joke. She also stated nhtsb was at fault. I'm sure they record all the calls. I ended up just calling the dealership and they scheduled my car for diagnostics for tue, 9/2/14. But they also told me that my vehicle is not included in the recall. Well. . . . . I'll pull my key out to show them how easily the key just comes out at any position, and then when the tech tries to start my car and can't, and is stuck in their garage, will my car be added then gm?? ?!!! I have so many issues I could go on and I see that so many others have reported numerous times and this is what is done to us? now I'm angry and afraid.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2014

I was driving my 2005 Equinox lx with my two grandchildren when they noticed a smell of exhaust gases in the rear passenger compartment. This was with the heating system on and in its normal configuration. After stopping I checked the exhaust system for leaks and could not identify any immediately with a visual inspection. I opened the hood and noticed the pipe connecting the egr valve to the exhaust manifold was disconnected and emitting exhaust gas into the engine compartment and intake area. It appears that the weld on the pipe boss was cracked. This seems to have occurred prematurely. After calling the dealership for a new pipe I was told by the parts department the pipe was no longer available and I would have to obtain a kit which included the pipe and a new egr valve. My question was this ever considered for a recall item as the kit is $360. 00.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2013

From stopped position put car in reverse moved approximately 10 feet, stopped. Car immediately moved in reverse at a high speed and hit a telephone pole, car is a total loss. Total incident on videotape from security camera.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2012

My remote would not lock the doors. Replaced batteries. It would lock and unlock once. Then nothing. Fuse blown. Replace fuse. Work once, blow fuse. Took to dealer after 3 months of not being able to access my trunk space, you can't open from inside or outside without remote. A wire inside the passenger door had somehow been severed??? how does that happen. $685 to fix. . . . Next huge issue: driving down road. . Front end gone???? struts, links. . . $1100 car won't start . . . Have to give it gas, seen a lot of these with no idea whats wrong. Well dealership says its fuel pressure sending unit, bad injectors. . . Grand total to fix $2000. . In what world should a vehicle that does not even 100k miles on it have so many costly fixes. . . . . . I looked on here to see if anyone else is having the starting issue. . Seems to be a lot of people.

Was going up hill lost power, sounded like car did not have muffler, got home and the hose going to headers was broken. Took to get fixed said it had been redesigned and had to add new parts to fix cost 400 plus labor. If redesigned must be problem in more than one car. This is not right and needs to be addressed.

Have a 2005 chevy Equinox. Having issue with starting the vehicle. Will start ok some times and others its a bear to start. Have had to press on gas peddle to get started. I have taken back to a couple of garages and have had injectors cleaned and a complete tune up on the vehicle. And still having the same issues with trying to start it up.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2009

I had my 2005 chevy Equinox for 2 weeks. It starting having starting problems, when idling, sounded like it wanted to shut off. Took it to a gm dealer. Turns out the egr needed to be replaced and pcm needed reprogrammed. Exactly fits NHTSA item number : 10017551 however, my vehicle doesn't fit in the range that gm decided was faulty. I do believe the range is larger than gm has actually listed.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2008

Sometimes the car will not start unless you push in the gas pedal. Have seen on line a lot of other people have had this problem, and yet no recall?.
