On this day April 8, 13 while driving on the freeway all of a sudden the sunroof of my 2007 Equinox LS flew off.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle was parked when the contact noticed that the rear floorboard soaking wet and mold was beginning to develop. After examining the vehicle further, the contact noticed there was a puddle of water settled within the spare tire compartment. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was 49,000 and the current mileage was 49,300.
My 2007 Chevrolet equiniox keeps taking on water in the spare tire compartment in the rear of the vehicle. When driving down hill, the water will enter the inside of vehicle thus wetting the carpet on the floor of the vehicle. How the water enters the vehicle can not be determined. The vehicle has been resealed around the rear door of the vehicle and this has not solved the problem. The water must be entering the vehicle from the undercarriage. I have read complaints from other 2007 Chevrolet Equinox owners. Based on their complaints, they are not getting any resolution from general motors. This moisture in vehicle can cause mildew to occur in the vehicle. This can be hazardous to the occupants.
Leakage in vehicle rear spare tire well. Transferred onto rear passenger floor/carpet. All windows foggy from inside and must keep defogger on at all times (even in heat) to keep windows clear for visibility. Mold and mildew from water causing illness in family.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the srs warning lamp was illuminated and she was unable to turn on the ignition by using the key fob. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offered any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,000 and the current mileage was 36,000. Kmj.
My front door handles have both fallen off my car. They just came off after opening the door. The plastic is very thin where they are connected and snap off. I replaced my passenger side about five months ago and now I need to replace my driver side. Its real hard to get in and out of the car with no door handle.
The chevy Equinox has a history of water leaking into the spare tire wheelwell. My 2007 Equinox is no exception. It was repaired in 2009 under warranty. The repair lasted for a while then the wheelwell started filling up with water again. Last summer I was using a wet and dry vac to take the water out, only to have it fill up later on. Gm put out a maintenance bulletin in 2009 for this problem. Their instructions did not fix the problem. There is no recall for this, why I don not know. The water creates a terrible smell, fogs up the windows on the inside, creates ice on the inside of the windows during the winter, can create mold throughout the carpeting and seats and is just a complete pain in the ass to keep dealing with this. Why has there been no recall on this issue? many, many, many complaints are out there on this problem with no coverage from gm. This is not an owner cause. It is a manufacturing cause. Owners of the Equinox need a recall inorder to take care of this without payments from the customer. Check it out and see how big this problem is. This is a problem with various gm vehicles and years.
I had to have my trunk compartment replaced and some areas around the frame of the body re-sealed due to excess water accumulating in the spare time area. I was first told by the dealer repair shop that it was a defect but when I requested reimbursement gm denied that the dealer ever told them this. I believe gm is denying that there are some structural problems with this year and model and my fear is that another year down the road there will be other issues with the frame/body of this model vehicle. Also, it bothers me that we are encouraged to "buy american" but the american car makers do not want to stand up to their promise of good makemanship. I am disappointed and especially with the dishonesty at the corporate level of this corporation.
The interior floor of my 2007 chevy Equinox is wet. There is a leak somewhere in this vehicle and when I googled "my Equinox leaks" there are many others with the same problem. I noticed a smell in the car a few months ago and cleaned the entire car from top to bottom and found nothing that would cause any orders. This order smells like mold and chemicals mixed together. It is awful. As I was cleaning the car to find the smell I noticed the rear passenger floors were wet, not damp, wet. I have tried everything to get rid of the water but nothing works. The other internet positing, which there are problem a good 100 or more, all have the same problem as mine. Gm has ignored their requests for help. Please help us get gm to fix this defect. Thank this is a health issue, the smell this problem is creating is toxic. . . .
