After taking my vehicle to three repair shops I was advised by the last body shop that there was a bulletin (14159) out in regards to excessive engine oil consumption. The mechanic explained the issues I am having with my car is due to the excessive engine oil consumption. He stated the car is not losing oil it’s burning it. My entire engine is effected due to this issue. To go further in detail my car was cutting on and off in the middle of traffic. This is a huge safety issue for me I have a disabled son who I travel with on the daily. I quote “ all consumers should receive notice of a recall affecting them. Car manufacturers are required to notify registered owners and purchasers of all recalled cars by letter, and state agencies will provide manufacturers with lists of registered owners for this purpose. ” I never received a letter concerning a recall or this issue. I took very well care of my vehicle my car is a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and it only has 108,774miles. This is so devastating I have no other transportation and now I’m stuck looking for a new vehicle. If any documentation is needed I can assure you I can provide it.

Accident April 26, 2021 where our vehicle was hit "straight on front left" and seat belt tensioner did not restrain the passenger & "air bag did not deploy". Request edr (event data recorder) be scanned to determine what happened and how the car systems functioned or did not function properly. Driver suffered head trauma as a result of the accident. Please advise on action needed to follow up on this malfunction.
Driver's side and passenger's side curtain airbags deployed without having major impact. Driver brushed a curb while driving the and airbags deployed. There is no sign of impact or damage on the vehicle that should have resulted in this happening.

Gota letter from them saying thieir an issuse with the airbags want to know if mine are defected and need to be replaced now. . .
Multiple trips to the dealer. Solenoid problem, air bag, engine light on, broken chain, fuel pump injector, leaking sun roof, as of 3/6/2017 I need a transmission. My car was purchased in 2010, I only have 31,000 miles on it. Iv'e visited the dealer Jan, Feb, and March of 2017. I feel I should be compensated with a new car!!!! Jan, f car.
I got a recal about my airbags . When I took it in the dealer told me that it was the seatbelt tinshner was at falt and that was not covered by the recall. The dealer is pheltier chevy in tyler tex.
Drivers seatbelt pretesioner connector shorted. Airbag fault light was illuminated. Repair cost was &161. 60. I feel this safety related item should be covered under warranty. Gm and the dealer say service bulletin 14710 only applies to certain 2010 Equinoxes and that mine isn't included based on the serial number.
Takata recall. Bumped a curb (front driver's side) at a low rate of speed (on a regular road making a left hand turn) and all airbags deployed even though there were no passengers. Front tire was resting at curb (did not go over curb because was not going fast enough). Ended up with a broken nose, stitches on forehead, eyebrow, two areas of nose because of cuts from airbags. Also extremely swollen hand with fractures.

I was driving in traffic when the car in front of me stopped abruptly in front of me. I read ended him going about 40 miles per hour. My air bags did not inflate. I exited the car and began speaking with the other driver when we heard a pop in my car. Smoke starting coming out of the engine compartment and then almost immediately my car engine caught on fire. The car was not running. I injured my knee and shoulder in the incident.

Expressing concern over the safety devices in his 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, the air bag system; the vehicle was taken in for repair six times and has not been fixed and the air bag message continues to come on; he believes this is a safety defect. The dealer replaced the tensioner kit on the driver's seat belt. However, the problem continued.
"service air bag" light has come on, and the warning chime goes off every 20 seconds. First incident occurred about 2 months after taking delivery of the new 2010 Equinox. Oakland, CA chevy dealer informed us that with this light on, there is no airbag protection. The dealership replaced a "faulty module". About one month later, the same problem occurs. I try calling the oakland dealership to bring the car in, and no answer. After 2 weeks of calling, I stop by dealership and it's closed. I take the car to the novato dealership (40 miles away), they acknowledge there is a problem, but cannot provide a loaner car because they do not know it will take longer than 6 hours to fix. I have no way of getting home. So I drive the car home (with no airbags). I hear the oakland dealership is opening under new owner, so I will take car back to them when they open. I drive this car as little as possible because of the problem.
My 2010 chevy Equinox LS steering wheel locks up while driving. The electrical also seems to have an issue where the radio will start flashing and the air bag warning keeps coming on even after they have stated all of the issues have been fixed and parts have been replaced. This car has been in the shop more than I have owned it. I am scared for my families safety.
