Where to begin. . . In 2015 I purchased this 2010 Equinox from a chevy dealer and 2 months later started experiencing problems w/ the stabilitrak. I have thousands of dollars paying for this to be fixed with no solutoins to this day!! it os now a daily occurrence and comes on multiple times while driving every time I am behind the wheel now. In addition, now the engine is completely shutting off while driving it and I must coast to the side if the road!!!! with the hundreds of thousands of complaints your company has received regarding this problem over the last few years, I am guessing your company is waiting for a life to be taken! I have had this happen to me multiple times on the highway passing a car or semi and it kicks in and I have to pray that as I slow down with no control I can make it to the right lane and then on to the shoulder with out getting hit or worse!!! there are even mornings where I go out to start my car and. . . Either it doesn't start at all w/ no sound, it starts with the stabilitrak already on or it clicks on as soon as I put it in reverse. I am keeping all my receipts together and my family knows where they are in case anything should happen to me due to the lack of Chevrolet assistance for thousands of people dealing w/ the same issues!!!! yes I have a warranty but was told that is not covered and I have already had a new transmission put in, throttle body replaced, wires replaced, etc. . . And still no solution and this is not the first time I have filed a complaint here. I will never recommend a chevy to anyone and will share my experience with as many people as possible!.
Traction control malfunction and made the car go into low power mode, had to pull over on the highway, restart it many time to go again.
My wife was driving home from work to eat lunch as with any other day and all of a sudden the vehicle started shaking violently, the check engine light came on along with a "reduced engine power" message and an exclamation mark. I've done a ton of research and have seen this show up as a common issue with many gm models. I found the gm TSB 11273 that describes the exact condition we are having. Want to know the problem? my wife's 2010 Equinox isn't listed in the TSB!!! I do not understand this at all. I've called gm to explain the situation and they will hear nothing of it and are telling me they will not cover the expense. It makes no sense to me how they admit fault and pick of the cost of the exact same repair on other gm models but they will not pay for the repair on my vehicle for the exact same problem. This is a very dangerous issue and I couldn't even imagine having this issue at a high speed, luckily my wife was only driving in town. This is unacceptable. To make things worse, the vehicle doesn't even have 55,000 miles on it and gm is telling me the 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty doesn't even cover this! how much sense does that make? the powertrain is the meat of the vehicle which cannot be utilized if the throttle body is acting up because the vehicle is kicked into reduced power mode! very frustrated with gm's customer service in not acknowledging this issue should be fixed.
While driving 55mph, the check engine light appeared on the display. Shortly after, a message reading "service stabili trak" appeared. Then, another message appeared "engine power reduced". My car started shaking fiercely and I could not go above 30mph. I felt like I was sitting on a ticking time bomb. Then, the car shut off automatically. I tried restarting the car. It seemed fine but minutes later the same things happened. I took my vehicle to have it diagnosed at advance auto parts. I received the following codes: u0100 (engine control module), p0324 (knock control system), & p2135 (throttle position sensor). I then took my vehicle to a Chevrolet dealership who kept my vehicle 5 days. During this time, they could not diagnose the root of the problem, could not fix the issue, and returned my vehicle to me. They said they completed a reset on the vehicle & the problem should be resolved. However, on the way home from the dealership (10 minutes of drive time) the vehicle did the exact same thing with the messages and shut off. This is extremely unsafe and needs to be corrected ASAP!! I was barely able to get my car to the side of the busy highway before it shut off and was nearly rear-ended from a vehicle behind. As an extremely pregnant woman (who's due any day), I should not have to worry for the safety of myself or my unborn child in a vehicle that has such high safety ratings. Please have these issues resolved before someone truly gets hurt or killed.
My cars ch ed ck engine light has popped on and off since I git the car in July and the tpms gauge has been on since the first week I got the vehicle. It was raining and my car began to soid initiating thetraction control but my car started to skid and the chrck engine light came on. I drove for 15 mknutes between 35-55 mph and I received an error message about power failure on the car. My car immediately shut down I didnt need an oil change left and I just replenished oil but when I checked it it was empty. I put more oil in the car and scheduled an oil change. The technichian checked my tires and did the oil change and the car appeared to work fine. 3 days letter I had the same issue. And instead of one tire none of my tires are being read on the car and when travtion control is on it rides rough. 5oday alone my car shut off 7 times while I wasnstufk 9j a major highway. A mechanic in my building looked at my crlar and said that there is oil leaking onto the engine block as well.
Was driving vehicle when all of a sudden entire dash lit up and car stalled. Messages included service stabilitrak, service abs, engine light, and service traction control. I lost power, power brakes, and power steering and coasted vehicle to a stop. It took a couple of tries but finally got the car to turn over, engine light remained on but drove to dealer. Vehicle did not drive correctly when accelerated, it was slow and jerky. When I took the vehicle to the dealer they told me it would be covered under warranty, they plugged in their tech code reader and determined it was throttle body. I was given a concierge vehicle and informed it would take them the weekend to fix. When I picked the vehicle up they charged me saying that it would not be covered under the warranty and tried to make me pay for the rental and I have still not been reimbursed for the repairs that should have been covered under warranty or the rental car. The service agent at the dealership printed off where it clearly states that it should be covered. This is a dangerous problem and should be recalled.
Why don't you let a person tell the complete story? my entry about chevy Equinox could cause fatalities and you cut me off after I spend time to type it all out. I am saving it to a word file if anyone there is interested, contact me at sisson@consolidated. Net.
Service stabilitrack light come on. Service engine lights come on. Engine power is reduced. The vehicle engine died right in the middle of the street. I was able to restart it and took it in for service. They couldn't find any "actual" problem. So they reset all the codes. It has happened again. It is happening when the temperatures get below freezing.
Smells like something is burning & service engine stays light is on, engine has low power or is idling rough with a whining noise from high pressure fuel pump. Model 2010 Equinox, has a couple other recalls that also tie into the constant electrical problems. Also I recently went to adjust the vent and the button disappeared into the dash. What's this. It's something new every week now. No know cause for the engine light, despite diag. Tests. My fuel mileage is also shortened although the vehicle is on a strict maint. Schedule.
I started hearing a knocking noise at 28000 miles. Had serviced but after several miles noise started again. Noise continues so service is needed(10-2-13). I had several gaskets, seal, bolts, fuel pump(which was leaking raw fuel into inside of engine), balance chain, timing chain, guide for timing chain(which guide and debris fell in oil pan), and two tensioner replaced as well as oil life monitor recall update. Here I am nearly 3 months later and my 2010 Equinox is in shop(12-31-13) and can't be driven do to loud noises, lose of power fuel and oil, as well as stalling and check engine light being on continually. I did extensive research and found thousands of people with same year and model Equinox as mine to be having same problems as mine at same mileage. I found that the engine needs to be replaced because of damage done by leaking fuel pump. So no matter what work is done or what is replaced problems still keep happening because damage is all ready done to inside of engine and the entire engine should be replaced. Please help, this is a major problem that effects thousands and nothing is being done for us owners. Those who are lucky to get their engine replaced don't get an accurate warranty and after several miles the new engine starts having the same issues. Please help!!.
