The stabilitrac , brake & traction control would not reset. Took to shop replaced abs module & t/c switch. Cost me $1999. 32 to fix. Problem solved.
Timing jumped and rotors have to be changed too much. Truck is burning too much oil , affecting the engine.
While driving all of a sudden my trac control and abs light came on. I stopped and when turned back on it said service stability track and awd. Lights went off. Then one day I was stopping and my brakes jerked and crunched and the lights came back on and now brakes crunch and jerk.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 50 mph there were two vehicles ahead that were stopped. The contact brake the vehicle and felt that she loss control of the vehicle causing the vehicle to struck the guardrail. The contact was severely injured and seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 138,000.
This is an addendum that I posted on 3/3/2015 ( see complete report) regarding the crash alert system activating without reason. A week ago on a clear, sunny day, in the middle of the afternoon, without any obstacles or cars around, the red alert light went on and, instead of the brakes pulsating like in past incidences, the brakes applied themselves almost stopping the car before releasing. If a car had been behind us, there would have been a rear-end collision. I am waiting for a call from a gm representative regarding this matter. They and the dealership were alerted about the past incidences that have occurred. A customer service representative asked me what I would like done. My response was fix the problem before someone gets seriously hurt! or, post a recall, since my vehicle isn't the only one having this problem ( see report on 2/16/2015. ).
I was driving my 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, purchased approximately 2 1/2 months ago brand new (now with approximately 2500 miles). As I was driving down a very busy road at 50-55 mph, several warning lights came on - abs, stabilitrak warning, service engine - and the car began to lose power. Luckily, I was able to get the car off the road. Eventually, the lights went off and the car began to drive "normal". However, had this occurred on the interstate or if I hadn't been able to pull off the road, I feel the situation could have been much worse.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving in reverse at approximately 5 mph, the instrument cluster information center illuminated intermittently. The manufacturer issued a customer satisfaction program where the radio was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The failure recurred sporadically seventy times within a year. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times, but was unable to locate the cause of the failure. In addition, the rear windshield exhibited a permanent film on the inner glass surface and, when exposed to direct sunlight, it distorted the contact's visibility. On separate occasions, when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle unintentionally accelerated. The dealer was unable to locate the cause of the failures. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 12. The VIN was unavailable.
Collision alert system flashes red and the Equinox brakes grab on and off, sometimes once and sometimes several times for no apparent reason - distance from other vehicles ahead is more than adequate, speed is moderate, no approaching cars. It seem that the system taps the brakes and then releases . This has happened 5 to 6 times even when no vehicles are in front and the driving conditions are normal - roads clear and dry, some overcast, no cars approaching from the other lane. The dealer is at a loss as to what is causing this.
