general problems of the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox

Ending result timing chain : beginning of result: 1. My vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of power steering while driving at highway speeds. The loss of power steering significantly compromised the driver's ability to maneuver the vehicle safely, especially during emergency situations, putting both the driver and other road users at risk of an accident. 2. Traveling at high way speeds my car suddenly lost complete power to go. Keep going up and down in speed in middle of interstate 3. No warning signs prior no check engine line appeared until after the safety risk above.

Excessive oil consumption causes need for engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, and timing chain repairs.

While driving at the speed of 45mph… the vehicle suddenly started increasing acceleration to 62 mph……attempts to apply brakes failed…. Was unable to stop acceleration brake pedal was pressed all the way to the floor an car was slammed into park….

I have a 2015 chevy Equinox lt, I had my car repair engine light came on all lights on dash lite service warning for abs, traction control, stabilitrak and steering wheel, and when I would stop the car would stall. I took to chevy dealership and had serviced. The intake valve was replaced covered under warranty, and the ecm (engine control module) replaced. Car seemed fine after 1 1/2 years service stabilitrak came on and off , I had issues with low fuel mileage, only check engine light came on once and then right off again after I had the spark plugs replaced the outtake valve replaced no check engine light , regular oil changes. One day the service stabilitrak light came on and did not come off. This has been going on for 6 months I was driving and my car started jumping when I came to a stop, no lights came on. I continued to drive and when I parked my car sounded like a mac truck and was shaking and had the smell of burning oil or gas. I parked a 2 hours later I started it the same sound and smell along with the check engine light I looked under my car and there was oil dripping, I stopped and add oil and was able to drive home slowly. I parked over night I started it and drove around the block I turned off and then waited a minute turned back on opened the hood and the engine was shaking loud and reduced engine power message came up. I am at a loss I do not have money to fix this it is a 2015 no warranties are even covered over this issue if they are able to figure out what this is. I looked all over the internet and so many people have this problem I don't understand why it is not recalled or there is no class action against gm for this.

The engine is jerking, jumping, car has no power. . . Complete piece of crap.

Car is burning oil at abnormally fast rate. I have been driving with quart of oil in my car at all times since finding out about existing problem with earlier model year vehicles and noticing the pattern in my vehicle. Check engine light and reduced engine power notification came on while driving on highway. The stability track notification came on as well. I am now being told by local mechanic that I may need a new engine. I was informed by local dealership that timing shaft and actuator may need to be replaced just to get the car to start. The underlying problem is the same as the existing problem in class action lawsuit for 2010-2013 models. Chevrolet has built an engine that doesn't work and they need to pay for this. How many complaints does there need to be before something is done.

Speedometer randomly drops to zero while driving 60- 70mph down highway and at lower speeds as well such as 30mph. Check engine light comes on and then stability tracker comes on. Thermometer for engine drops to cold at same time and car begins jolting/jerking. Needles on dash board go hay wire and move back and forth. After a few hours check engine light goes off and then dealership can't find fix because check engine light is intermittent. Have been dealing with this issue on and off for 3 years. Chevy on star diagnostics provides error codes that point to tcm, ecm and abs-breaking and stability system. Chevy dealers are never able to come to resolution and pin down what is wrong. Issue keeps happening. I have more invoices/chevy onstar diagnostic documents showing issue and error codes but I was unable to upload them all as I can only upload 5mb. Am able to provide that additional documentation if need be.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving at a low speed and attempting to park, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle jerked and accelerated independently. As a result, the contact drove over a concrete divider and crashed into a building. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an auto body repair center for body repairs. The vehicle was not diagnosed based on the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a technician to inspect the vehicle. The failure mileage was 7,500.
