The contact owns a 2017chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph. The contact stated that her vehicle was driving normally in the beginning, however once she slowed down the vehicle to exit the high way her vehicle started to loose power. The contact stated she then smelled a strong odor in what she thought could have been gas. The contact stated that she then saw smoke, and drove her vehicle to the nearest independent mechanic to diagnosed her failure. The contact stated that she was advised that her pcv valve had broken due to it being frozen, causing her rear main oil seal to explode. The contact was also advised that the smoke was due to the oil leakage underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that she then had her vehicle towed to the dealer (rosedale Chevrolet) who advised her that they had several vehicles that were the same year, make, and model as her vehicle, already being repaired for the same failure, and that she had to take her vehicle to another dealer . The contact stated that she then had her vehicle towed to another dealer where it remains. The contact stated that when she contacted the manufacturer she was advised that her that the warranty had expired, therefor she had to pay out of pocket. The contact stated that while doing her own research and speaking with a couple of dealers , she found complaints of other consumers that had the same failure she was experiencing ,and also was the same a year, make, and model vehicle. The mileage failure was 67,000.
