**NHTSA complaint summary: 2023 Chevrolet Equinox warranty & safety failure** * **first stall & initial negligence:** after a factory engine replacement, the vehicle suffered a fuel system failure. Castle rock Chevrolet falsely claimed it was repaired, leading to a catastrophic stall on a high-speed highway with raw gasoline and burning plastic odors. * **second stall & false diagnosis:** following a tow, the dealership cleared the car, claiming "no errors". Within 24 hours, it stalled again in live traffic. Castle rock then refused emergency warranty service and hung up on you. * **critical safety hazard:** the vehicle experiences a severe electrical voltage drop (triggering **"engine power is reduced"** and **"battery saver active"** warnings). This causes a sudden, dangerous **loss of electric power steering (steering locks up)** and **fuel injection failure** while driving in traffic, creating an extreme crash risk. This recurring hazard stems from improperly reassembled or melted wiring harnesses following dealership repairs.
My 2023 Equinox rs losses power during quick acceleration for lane changes or passing. It will also lose power during some turns at normal speed. It will also accelerate and deaccelerate at a low speed making it feel like the gears are slipping. Auto stop on occasion will be a hard take off requiring a firm foot on the brake. At time it will also shift hard into 1st gear. My car has been in the dealership three times for this issue and the last time the tech said there was a recall for the issue and performed some reset and gave me the car back. Other than that they said there is nothing they can do about it. This issue presents a major safety issue especially when it losses power during a lane change or passing someone. I can't anticipate when the power will come back and by that time the traffic has now caught up to me. This problem started probably 6-8 months after I purchased the car new from the dealership.
Air recirculation button has never worked since I bought my vehicle brand new in 3/2023. It continuously brings outside air in.
Getting vibration and loud noise at 35 to 40 mph since taking delivery. Have contacted dealership and they are waiting for gm to respond. I have seen similar complaints about drive line and drive axle complaints for earlier model year Chevrolet Equinox.
My car has a vibration, I went to the dealer after one week of buying it, they first told me it has a learning transmission and after it learns how I drive it will go away. I later found out there is not such thing, the vibration at first was at slow speeds 30 t0 40 mph. I made a complaint to gm and the dealer, the dealer felt the vibration but could find what was the cause and said gm has to receive several complaints and considered this normal, I have taken it back for service a advised them gain of the ,problem and was told they could not fine the problem to wait until it get worse . I took it back over 6 times with no answers. My last time they said there was slippage in the torque converter but gm would not do anything and told me to wait until it gets worse, it now vibrates from 2 mph to 60 mph and makes a low growling noise, the dealer has felt the vibration every time I had them drive it, I new from the start if was in transmission it now will be three years with no correction, I know vibration can cause other problems which could loosen something else, I do not feal safe and will not drive it out of town. All I get from the dealer is they now know it is in the trans, but keeps telling me to bring it back when it gets worse. I cannot accept that, they keep using this as a excuse not to fix the problem. What else can I do?, I know other gm SUV have the same problem but gm will not admit to the problem until they get more complaints. What.
