Wiper problems of the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox

We are leasing a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox ev. We like the car, however there is a safety issue that has continually occurring. There is a very strong reflection on the windshield from the materials that make up the dashboard. It can occur in bright sun but also on bright cloudy days. I want to be clear, I am not being blinded by the sun in my eyes but rather the dash reflecting onto the windshield and obscuring my vision. I’ve had two close calls because of this. I mentioned it to the chevy service lady when I had an appointment and she said her boyfriend had exactly the same problem with his Equinox ev. He had to put a carpet piece on the dash to stop the obscuring reflection.

The 2 problems that I am reporting are visibility issues. There are situations when it is very difficult to see out of this car. When bright sunshine comes through the windshield it reflects off of the dashboard making it almost impossible to see out. Pedestrians are very difficult to see and it's very dangerous to continue driving. The second problem is that the driver and passenger side windows are deeply tinted. I thought that this is illegal. At night the windows are so dark that you cannot see autos or pedestrians in intersections. I find that I have to roll down the windows so that I can safely see before proceeding through the intersection. I'm not sure what I'm going to do in the winter or a driving rainstorm. I have found that wearing polarized sunglasses helps with the windshield problem but only replacing the side windows will the tinted window problem be fixed.

Having issues with the windshield wipers clearing rain when driving and multiple camera malfunctions that I have an appointment to have both checked on 12/2. Wiper stops more than 4 inches from the edge of the window which I could probably just deal with, but when driving it pulls water anywhere from 3-8 inches further across the windshield making it very hard to see when it rains harder or you drive faster. I have owned more than 15 vehicles and never experienced anything making it difficult to see during inclement weather. The other issue is the cameras when backing up or going forward will malfunction for a day or two, then be good for a few weeks and malfunctions again sporadically. Have video of windshield wipers clearing rain issues, but it won’t let me submit, so if you want I can email. Pictures don’t show issue as well.

The dash allows for significant amount of glare that reflects in bright sunlight and impare visibility through the windshield.

It was 12:41 pm edt on July 17th, about a half hour before solar noon. The car is pointed at approximately 85 degrees (almost due east) and the sun is about 90 degrees to our right. This is a extreme case of the reflection because the garage is darker than ambient. It is almost impossible to view where we are going. But the excessive reflection is always there when the sun is shining on the dash. It is my opinion that the car need some sort of anti reflective surface. We love the car and would buy it again - but - it has one significant problem which is in-fact a safety problem. While driving my 2024 chevy Equinox ev, intense glare reflects off the dashboard and windshield under certain lighting conditions, especially in sunlight. This glare creates severe visibility issues, at times completely blinding the driver and making it unsafe to operate the vehicle. The issue poses a significant safety risk not only to me but to other drivers and pedestrians. The problem is consistent and reproducible, but no warning messages or indicators are shown. I have not yet had it formally inspected by the manufacturer or dealer, but the issue appears to be a design flaw affecting visibility. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

Equinox 2 ev 2024 dashboard has a pattern that reflects in the sun onto the front window making it extremely difficult to see out the window. Happens all the time.

Due to the design of the dash there is a horrible glare on the windshield and it makes it very difficult to see out of the front windshield. This needs to be addressed immediately as it very distracting and can lead to an accident due to lack of visibility on sunny days.

There is a horrible glare on the windshield during sunny conditions that reflects the slatted dash lines onto the windshield. It is incredibly hard to see during certain times of the day.

Sunlight hits the dashboard and reflects a glare onto the windshield that partially blocks view of the road. The dashboard reflection is enough that it can be difficult to see traffic, people cross the road, etc.

It is difficult to see out of the windshield when the sun in shining. The material the dash is made of makes an awful reflection on the windshield.

Glare from the sun on the dash causes blindness and unable to safely see out of the windshield. It's a safety hazard to operate and unsafe for anyone else on he road when the sun hits it. Test drove and bought the car on a cloudy day and the first time the sun hit my dash I nearly rear ended the car in front of me. Emergency braking system activated to avoid a collision due to me not being able to see the brake lights in front of me even though I was wearing sunglasses.

Intella beam system turns off while driving. Radio and lights won't shut off when car is turned off. Crash detection comes on when nothing is in front of you. Dash is blank when starting the vehicle. On star not connecting and then won't turn off.

Excessive dashboard glare restricted clear vision of road and associated pedestrians and other vehicles.

The dashboard glare is very noticeable and makes it difficult to see out of. After the right turn signal disengages it will sometimes initiate the left turn signal for 3 clicks. Both are saftey flaws.
