Warning Problems of Chevrolet Equinox

Occasionally, the vehicle will jerk the steering wheel when going around a curve (almost like its trying to center the line while driving in a curve) and sometimes it steers out of the lane or simply won’t function correctly at all.

The lane keep assist never works properly, it vehicle doesn’t stay in lane, also gps has never worked properly, it’s been to the dealers several times and parts have been replaced with out any success.

The gear selection is on the steering column and to change from park to reverse or drive takes usually over six attempts to get in the right gear. When your entering traffic and you get delayed trying to put the car into the proper gear this becomes a very dangerous safety issue. General motors refuses to advise me how to deal with this problem unless I give them the name of an attorney who will represent me.

Car sensors don’t work as intended. Stay on and continue flashing. While driving on free way sensor shut off and cause vehicle not be able to detect lane or vehicle next to it.

When purchase vehicle there was only 9,567 miles on it . I had the car for 1 year when lane changing warning and front camera went out. Also effected my car started. Dont know when it was first purchase and they say warranty is up. It could of been the end of 2024 but they say 1/2024. . Miles is under 36000 and the end of 2024 is 3year. My bill they stat is over 1500. I can afford it in this economy. And chevy should honor the bumper to bumper warranty. Im disappointed in chevy, that there electronics go in less then 3 years. I hope that chevy for a large corporation will make this right. Cause right now im not happy with chevy vehicle [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Front camera inoperative. Not listed as a safety concern.

All wheel drive system - 3/20/23 I was on a county maintained dirt road where adjacent property owner had put fencing, tires, & other trash in the road to stop public use. As I had all wheel drive I went up on a 3' +/- side berm to get around. When the front end was approximately at the top, car started to slip & rear passenger tire "tried" to correct slip & car switched into low without my touching gear shift (I looked). From having a 2005 Equinox with awd, I knew this was awd going into action. When car did not change drive wheels like my 2005, I let off on the gas; turned nose downhill, slide/roll down hill. At bottom, I applied gas & car was still in low - it shouldn't have been with the emergency over. It stayed in low even as I applied more gas. I stopped car, put it in park; waited 2 +/- minutes for a reset. When I accelerated again, it was still in low. I put it into park & turn it off. Only after 2 +/- minutes off did car finally automatically switch gears as I accelerated. As I had 60,000 miles on the car & was advised by victorville chevy to have transmission service & did at diamond chevy, san bernardino as victorville chevy would not even write up a work order after the "electronic check" device inserted into car failed to note a problem sitting in the parking lot. After "the check" at vv, I made an appointment at diamond chevy in san bernardino. This car while having nothing on the carfax had a broken rear bumper cover which was "repair" after I reported it just after purchase 5/21. Bumper then, didn't hold when I backed into wire gate. At the very least, styrofoam, was collapsed/broken in the prior to purchase accident and not repaired when the bumper cover was glued & painted. I was told my car was "safe" after the bumper "repair. " my guess that a more than 3 mph rear collision would total the car. That is not safe in my opinion. Please note these were not the only two problems. My opinion is that it is a software problem.

Vehicle has 55000 miles and check engine light is on. In scanning the car I was told that p0010 the intake positions actuator circuit and p0013 exhaust camshaft position actuator circuit needed to be serviced to the tune of between 1200. 00 and 1500. 00 dollars which is normal for these cars I. Think this is bs I have oil changed every 2000 miles or 3 months with castrol dexos 5w30 and lucas oil stabilizer. Sounds like this should be covered by yhe manufacturer.

I have noticed my car does not signal to me when I'm getting to close to something in my backup camera. In other words I backed into someone's garbage bin while reversing. I was going very slow. This is a problem for me as I don't feel the camera is very accurate. I was watching the camera and listening for a beep with no music or air going because I had noticed I hadn't heard the thing beep before. I was only in the driveway but this could have caused an issue if I was parallel parking on a side street in town.
