Air Bag Problems of Chevrolet Express 1500

We bought a used 2014 Express 1500 cargo van from Chevrolet of montebello on may of 2017. The "service air bag" indicatior has appeared in my dashboard off and on since the day we bought it. As I conducted my personal research I came across a couple of articles stating that there was a recall for this particular cargo van for the "service air bag. " I went to the dealership and they had told me I had to pay $130 for diagnostics, when they had "found out what the problem was", they were charging me a little over $500 to fix "the problem. ".

I was traveling east thro an intersection when a truck on the my right ramed me in the front right side of my car. I felt the car spin and the truck ended up in my right rear bumper and when I came to a stop both airbags deployed and I was injured and the airbags exployed and I have eye damage to my right eye and neck injury and back injury. The airbags in my Express 1500 did not deploy after I skidded out on a highway to avoid a 18 wheeler. The van was totaled so nothing was done to correct it but with no airbags it led to a broken shoulder and some ribs from the steering wheel. I hit the jersey barrier going directly straight at it at about 50-60mph.
