My spouse was driving our family south on hwy 101 at about 50 mph near arch cape, oregon on June 25, 2022 during 93 degree weather. Just before falcon cove state park as we were going up a hill and people were braking to turn into the park, my spouse yelled "we have no brakes". The brakes were hard as a wall and he was using both feet to get us to slow down. I could not feel us slowing. It was utterly terrifying. He did finally get us slowed down likely due to the weight we were carrying and the hill. But the brakes were so terrible we couldn't even park in a space because we might go down the cliff (hill/slope). We had no cell service and I couldn't get anyone to help us so I ran up and down hills trying to get service in that heat. Finally, my spouse said we'd have to get back into the truck and drive to get service. I reluctantly let him drive us slowly to the next and last lookout at the top of the mountain. I still didn't have enough bars to call out but we couldn't go further because it would be a downslope with a cliff to the ocean on the right. I called 911 who patched me to a tow. The mechanic said it was the brake vacuum pump. He ordered the part and saved it. We were charged $595. 27 for the tow, parts, and labor. I researched and learned of the gm recall on the brake pump for 3. 7 million vehicles and your investigation that closed 4/2022. It appears they were supposed to reprogram so there was more brake time or notice of failure. I contacted the dealer where we religiously service (I believe this repair is the only time anyone else serviced this vehicle). I had them send me the complete service history (warranty and recall) included for both of our trucks as they both fall under the recall. I could not find this reprogramming. I asked them to point it out and they're unresponsive. I'm still on vacation but clearly this is dangerous for everyone on the road. I have so much more to say and not enough characters remain. Reopen this investigation now!!!.

The vehicle security light comes on intermittently for years, I then cannot start the vehicle. I have reported the problem to gm, I have had it to the Chevrolet dealership twice, which cost me over a thousand dollars for them to replace parts which had no effect in solving the problem. The vehicle will not start until you turn the key to the on position, wait 10 minutes for the light to go out, then turn off the ignition for 10 seconds, then it will start. I have put up with it for years, but when I am stranded in the dead of winter, that poses a safety hazard. Your report wants to know when it happens, it happens without notice, rhyme or reason, at anytime since I bought it in 2009.

We took our van in for a routine oil change. Our mechanic noticed that the fuel fill clamp had been rubbing against the brake line that was starting an indentation from the ongoing rubbing. He had seen this happen in another 2012 chevy van, but in that case, the rubbing of the fuel clamp, resulted in a brake in the line, leaking of all brake fluid, causing total loss of braking function & ability to stop vehicle. Our mechanic advised us to go to the nearest chevy service center, where they could order the proper parts and fix the issue before something tragic (like total loss of brake function) could happen. I truly believe that this malfunction is not an isolated case and steps should be taken for an immediate recall to check these 2012 vans.

I am writing to file a complaint against supreme corporation 2581 east kercher rd. Goshen, in 46527. I received a safety recall notice from them dated August 12, 2009 which indicated a defect in certain spartan service and cargo bodies manufactured between January 2006 to June 2008. I own a 2006 vehicle with a spartan cargo body. The recall applies to a potential defect in the bonding of the roof skin to roof rail extrusion and roof rail extrusion to side wall and indicates that while the vehicle is in operation parts of the roof skin or roof itself could delaminate or dislodge. The recall further states the potential for death or serious injury exists to other vehicles or the general public should any part of the roof become unbonded. The recall states that there is an attached list of shops approved by supreme corporation to perform the recall repair, however no list was attached. Further, I contacted supreme corporation at 800-557-2785 four times and requested the list of repair shops. I was told on four occasions that the list would be emailed to me. I never received any emails or other communication from supreme corporation. Supreme corporation is being negligent and irresponsible in the matter.
