2 days ago I was driving on the baltimore beltway traffic made an abrupt stop I hit my brakes and the pedal went to the floor luckily I was in the right lane and could use my parking brake and downshifting to get off the road. I was able to get off the next exit and take back roads home using my parking brake to stop.

I was traveling on the highway at the speed of 50 mph and the van suddenly began to violently shake and shudder from the front wheels and up and including the shake of the steering wheel. I slowed the vehicle down by braking to 35 mph and it slowly stopped shaking. This has become a regular issue with the vehicle and I have taken it from shop to shop and mechanics cannot figure out the problem. I fear for my family's safety as well as my own when driving alone in this vehicle. It has been a year since this has begun. Mechanic has changed the shocks for the van and it has began to violently shake and shudder more frequently. I need to know why this is happening. I own a Chevrolet Express 2500 (2003).

We bought a new chev 2500 work van. ; employee applied brakes and had no brakes or steering . As a result ran into the back of another vehicle. Approx damage is over 9000 ; two employeees were taken to the hospital. This vehicle only had 4800 miles; had to be sometype of factory problem. We currently have another 2009 chev. 2500 work van; we lost the power steering and brakes at approx. 25,000 miles; but, there was no accident. We have 2 of these vans and both of them have had a serious / major brake problem. Has to be a factory defect.

I am 62 years old and self employed. I do appliance service and drive over 25,000 miles every year. I have owned many different vehicles over the years. A year ago I purchased a new 2008 Chevrolet g2500 3/4 ton service van. I have never owned any other vehicle where I was more prone to hitting the gas pedal while attempting to apply the brakes. On numerous occasions I have found myself applying both the brakes and gas at the same time. I feel the problems is the close proximity of the two pedals and that they are very close to the same height. I have become very aware of this problem, but find that unless I am extremely alert, it still happens. I fear that at some point, I will find myself in some kind of accident because of this and really am fearful of what may happen if I need to apply the brakes in an emergency situation.
