The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Hhr. While purchasing the vehicle, the contact asked the dealer if the vehicle had front and side air bags. The dealer confirmed that the vehicle was equipped with both front and side air bags. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign id number 08v046000 (air bags) and he called the dealer to inquire about the nature of the notice. The contact discovered that the vehicle does not have side impact air bags. He called the manufacturer and they advised him to call the dealer. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer wish to provide further information regarding the notice. There had been no failure to date. The current mileage was 31,200.
