general problems of the 2010 Chevrolet HHR

Service air bags comes on sometimes saying I need to get it serviced only comes on when car has just been started . Sometimes gos out sometimes don't then sends service code on main display. Also radio shorts out cause driver to be distracted trying to figure out what happen changing from cd to fm to auxiliary on its own.

Know problem on connectors to air bags gives 2 codes b0019-0d and b0010-04 states that this know problem can stop deployment of air bags. Upon looking problem up this is very common on this car and the manufacturer knows of it. This is safety and should be fixed by them before someone gets hurt.

Takata recall 4/11/2018 purchased car. Dealer did a saftey inspection on this used Hhr . In my drive home on expressway air bag lite came on @ 59 miles driven after the purchase. I checked and now see there are tons of issued complaints on the lt Hhr model. Please respond.

The car was purchased in January 2016 & was gave to me via my grandpas will after he passed away in July 2016. The car never ran correctly & it was parked for a total of 9 months, while getting worked on in the meantime. Ive put almost 1000 into this car & replaced every part it needed. Now the car wont start & shows the air bag icon is always on while the car tells me that my ecs is "off" & service ecs. I own the vehicle & it is paid off.

I had detrimentally relied on the representations of at least 13 different contacts with service people, over this period of time, with this service department to honor the repair. Nathan copied the service work order sheet and gave me a copy of it. There was no mention or notation of a phone call ever been made, on it. Aaron paytna and nathan barrett, service managers at james martin Chevrolet 6250 woodward Ave. Detroit, michigan 48202, refuse to honor the airbag repair although they are repairing other model airbags daily on a open safety recall from the nstb. General motors representative david at 1-866-790-5600 extension 30641 refuses to honor the repair although he has open recalls on other models for the same issue. Since general motors has a history of exploding airbags causing crashes and several open recalls on several models, I am certain that this one (2010 Hhr) should be added to the list for safety concerns. Also, the running lights have a safety issue too, on almost all models the daytime running lamps and regular lights have the right headlight out. This is not a coincidence, it is a known design defect and all gm products from 2010 forward and should be recalled as the lights cause a safety hazard. In summation, I want the 2010 Hhr recalled for their right headlights and their airbags.

My vehicle is currently under 3 safety recalls with gm. When I contacted gm to inquire about a possible loaner vehicle until it can be repaired, I was told the dealerships were authorized to provide loaner vehicles. When I called the dealership they stated that they were only providing loaner vehicles for those whose cars were inoperable. When I contacted gm for clarification on this, they stated that loaner vehicles are available for those cars under safety recalls, of which my car is included, and sent me back to the dealership. The dealership still refuses to provide a loaner vehicle and gm is not assisting, just sending me back to the dealership. This car is under recalls in which there were serious accidents and deaths involved. There is no way I am driving this car. Can you help with this situation?.

Totaled my 2010 Hhr in 2014 and no airbags deployed.

When driving at any speed the "service airbag" warning comes on then goes off and comes back on randomly.

Intermittent "service air bags". Service light goes on and off sometimes it will change multiple times in just a 20 mile commute. Sometimes the service light will not turn on/off for a month. No common factor found. My VIN is not yet covered on the Hhr recall list. Intermittent "power steering" loss - service light turns on and off. It can be hot, cold, dry, raining, driving 30 miles per hour or driving 50 miles per hour. Very difficult to control vehicle. My VIN is not yet covered on the Hhr recall list. A couple of times my car key got stuck in the ignition. Once it took five minutes to turn the Hhr off. This is covered on the current Hhr recall list. There currently is no fix for the problem. It could be two months before it can be repaired.

For no reason the chime started to chime and the airbag lite come on,,,the cause of this lite coming on was a harness under the passenger seat not making a connection ,,,but intill I found out what it was I drove in fear that the airbag was going to deploy for no reason and cause me to have an accident,, iam not the only one this happened to ,,,I found out on the Hhr network its a common defect with chevy Hhrs.

Air bag connector went bad when the car was 2 yrs old. Some unknown electrical problem has caused a 5 yr battery to be dead after 2 yrs of normal usage. Dealer says air bag connector is not covered under warranty and that the battery is dead.

Power steering went out at 42000 purchased vehicle at 38500 miles. Vehicle is all electric power steering.

A police report was filed. One passenger suffered injuries.
