You tell me that there are recalls on my 2010 chevy Hhr and when I call the chevy dealer that I bought it from ( deery brother Chevrolet) in pleasanthill IA. And Chevrolet motors they tell me there are no recalls on my vehicle.

The dealer stated that the remedy would not be available for two months. The manufacturer was not notified of the delay. There were no failures.

Power steering unit went out when driving without warning. Pulled Hhr over to the curb to get the car off the road and damaged tire on curb. Car very hard to steer and could not control when pulling vehicle off road. This is a serious safety hazard especially for my wife who does not have the upper arm strength to control the vehicle. Same power steering unit in the chevy cruze and pontiac g6 has been recalled. Do not understand why the Hhr has not been included in the recall. Same problem reported on the internet by many other owners.
I was driving the car got up to 25 mph and the steering went out, the car was hard to steer I turnaround for home. I turn the car off took the key out of the ignition put it back in started the car up and it work for one minute and went out again.
10/1/13 as I left work, heading home, the car drove fine for approx. The first five minutes. Out of nowhere, the steering became tight, as if it locked up. I could not turn the wheel left or right, the car almost instantly produced more heat, I felt the heat around my feet and it came through the vents. I looked at the dic panel and power steering was flashing. There was a smell as if the car was burning. With force, I was able to maneuver the car to a parking lot to sit. After reading through the user manual, I followed the suggestions from the manual, turned the wheel left and right hoping it would loosen and letting the car sit idle. After about two hours of sitting, my brother drove the car home with no problem. 10/2/13 I took the car, early morning, to be inspected by a local repair company. After running diagnostics on the car, I was told that once diagnostics began immediately power steering control circuit was diagnosed as an issue, the only issue from the diagnostic report, that had malfunctioned. I was also informed that could be the reason why one minute power steering malfunctioned and hours later it worked fine. I was also told that normally something like this is recalled by the automaker.
About a year and a half ago my right tail light went out, replaced the bulb. About 9 months after that it went out again, replaced it. About 3 months after that it went out again, replaced it again. About a few months later it went out again, replaced it again. 3 weeks later it went out again, replaced it. One week later it went out again. . . . I have not replaced it yet because the last time my husband said that the light holder is melting. Each time we replaced the bulb we bought the recommended bulb.
Car stalls at any speed. Sometimes starts right back up and other times will not for a while. My car died as I was getting on the freeway ramp in a construction zone at 45 mph and climbing. Suddenly died and I had to star it back up. Traffic was heavy and I almost got into a serious accident. Died 7 times in less than 15 miles. No warning lights. Oil good, fuel good, it just dies without notice.

I have a 2010 chevy Hhr and apparently an electrical issue. It started with my inside lights on my dashboard randomly blinking. Then one headlamp went out, the next day after replacing the headlamp, my inside middle dome light went out. Today my window would not roll back up. This is all within 3 weeks span. Gotta be an electrical issue, right? what is my next step? no recall?.
Air bag light will come on and say service air bags. It comes and goes and can be reset manually. Had it serviced and it had a bad connector. The dealership re pined the connector for $155. 00 labor I felt ripped off. Safty equipment falls under differant category the the radio not working.
I was at the shopping center and went to cut the car off and the vehicle wouldn't cut off. The key would not come out of the ignition. The key would only turn forward, but not backward to the cut off position. I took it to a local mechanic because it was about 8 pm, the dealership was closed. They said they couldn't do any, I needed to take it to the dealer. They had seen this happened before with this vehicle.
While going around a bend in the road at approx 35/40mph, the power steering in my 2010 chevy Hhr went out. There was a ding and then it was very difficult to turn the wheel. I almost hit a Jeep that was turning into a subdivision opposite of us because I could not turn the wheel to get in the passing area. This resulted in me going off of the road. I pulled onto the next side road I saw. Checked for any issues and restarted. I regained power steering and was able to be on my way. In approx. Another mile or so it went out again. It did so intermittently all the way to the dealer. The dealer was of no help basically saying it was an operator error. There was a steering recall that I had taken care of earlier in the year and my mechanic said that it looks like it was replaced with equally defective parts. My mechanic also said that it's not a "wear part" and nothing that I did could have caused it to do that. It is a short on the motor/computer for the power steering.
After returning home the car could not be turned off, nor could the key be removed from the ignition after disconnecting the battery to stop the engine.
Key stuck in ignition, could not shut down engine. Dealer replace ignition cylinder.
Same issues as others. Key will not turn to off position, will not release from ignition. Issue is noted all over the internet. They have acknowledged and issued a service bulletin for 2009 model year, but not for any other model years. Why not for other years when obviously it is the same issue with the same part, over several of their models?.
Power windows: unable to roll down any window except the driver side using the driver side door panel. This, in conjunction with the door handles breaking off when the car was barely 3 years old, makes it a safety concern should I need to get out of the car through the windows. I am able to roll the windows up when using the driver side door panel button, just unable to roll them down. This started out with the front passenger side window not working, then went to the rear driver side and now the rear passenger side window can only be lowered by locking then unlocking the window and applying pressure to the window switch at an angle. If I needed to get my service dog out of the back seat and was unable to use the door, I would not be able to lower the window without effort. This puts her life or the life of a human who may be present in the back seat at serious risk. This slowly started a couple years ago and has escalated. The local chevy dealer, riverside chevy in rome, georgia, is aware of the problem, but the cost is too much for my disability income to cover.
Key is stuck in the cylinder with the engine running. I can not turn off the engine, on a Sunday night. No options, but to leave the car at the dealership with the car running and unlocked. Cost was $499. 50 to replace, plus loss of work the following Monday. Today's date is November 30, 2013, happened again with the car off, (about two years later). I found hundreds of reported incidents of this known defect on the internet and is not considered a reason for the manufacture to recall the defect, as it does not meet a safety issue as outlined by NHTSA.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Hhr. While driving approximately 45 mph the gauges on the instrument cluster began to fluctuate abnormally as the transmission began to jump while shifting gears. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the sporadic failure four times where the body control module, lubricated the high speed land modular connectors and replaced the power steering control module, all to no avail. The fourth visit to the dealer, per the manufacturer, the dealer was advised not to perform any further repairs. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that because the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure they were unable to provide any further assistance. The contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 277 and the current mileage was 12,345.
