Car was parked. I opened the passenger door. As soon as I closed door the rear glass shattered and fell to the ground. Temperature was not too hot or cold.

3 Side/rear Glass problem of the 2010 Chevrolet HHR

Failure Date: 09/15/2010

Chevy Hhr vehicle. Dangerous window defect. Windows implode for no apparent reason. Shoddy workmanship on the window seals. Were traveling in portland down highway 05 when the back drivers side window just imploded for no reason. Glass was thrown all over the car. If there had been a passenger sitting there they could have been seriously hurt or blinded by flying glass. These vehicles should be recalled until this problem with the windows is fixed.

4 Side/rear Glass problem of the 2007 Chevrolet HHR

Failure Date: 04/19/2009

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Hhr. The contact has experienced several failures with the rear glass shattering in her vehicle. When entering the vehicle, she heard a loud noise. She turned around to inspect the noise and noticed that the rear glass was shattered. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they could not determine the cause of the failure. The window was replaced at the cost of $250. A year and a half later, the rear glass shattered again. The contact is in the process of taking the vehicle to the dealer for repair and will notify the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 38,000 and current mileage was 48,000.
