One problem related to tailgate hinge has been reported for the 2002 Chevrolet K2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The cable on one side of my Chevrolet pickup gate broke causing the gate to fall onto the bumper. After purchasing a new pair of cables from the dealer I noticed that the gate was not properly aligned causing the weight of the gate to be placed all on one cable. I alerted the dealership to this problem which they looked at and suggested that I could make some adjustments to the tailgate to fix the problem. I tried to make an adjustment but could not get any movement in the tailgate so I am still driving with the problem.
