General motors specify the following for my vehicle: 2007i post-diesel emission warning on the post-emission diesel engine it is a requirement that the exhaust tip cooler supplied by gm is installed for every diesel equipped vehicle. If you do not install to exhaust tip cooler there is a high probability that you will start a fire in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle during regeneration (temperature in excess of 1,000 f). If not installed then the secondary manufacturer assumes all liability for an incident. This part is not optional. Your sales and service staff must be made aware of this requirement and your obligation to inform your customers. Removal of the gm exhaust tip with a more eye appealing exhaust will void the warranty on the vehicle and could lead to catastrophic failure. 2007i post-diesel emission warning four winds International, a division of thor industries, built my class c motorhome in April, 2007, and failed to meet these standards.
