Three problems related to defogger have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Malibu. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Intermittently during severe cold weather, all the windows fogged up so bad the consumer was unable to see, even when the defogger / defroster is on it does not clear all the glass and causes severe visibility while driving. The dealer was notified. The dealer inspected the heater, defogger and the defroster and nothing could be found wrong.
Was trying to use rear defroster when it failed to operate properly. Did not defrost rear window. Was not able look out. Took vehicle to dealer & was informed would have to come back some other time.
Vehicle purchased without a rear defogger, possible design flaw.
